Failed backup and side turning camera

Lost the backup camera pictures in a Forester 2861DS in less than 10 hours of driving time! Has anyone experienced the same, and if so is there a quick fix?

If all 3 cameras are not working the multiplexer probably has a loose power red wire), ground (black wire), or monitor trigger (green wire) connection to it.

You will find the multiplexer under the dash to the left of the steering wheel, its a small silver box about the size of a deck of cards.

Is the monitor showing a blank screen or no video message, or is it not changing from the radio screen?

Thank you for your quick reply! When I shift into reverse, the camera screen comes up with the disclaimer about reverse image, but it is otherwise blank! Same thing with the turning cameras. Underneath the dash is the connecting cord. The red male bayonet connector is free. The others seem to properly connected! I will look for the box tomorrow and let you know what I have found!

Definitly sounds like the multiplexer power connection (check the inline fuse also) has come loose or the video output from the multiplexer (yellow rca plug) has come loose from the multiplexer pigtail or from the radios video input. You can access the manuals and equipment descrptions at the manufacturers web site.
It is normal that a red or white connector may not be used.
Not sure what what you mean by a bayonet connector ( BNC ?). Pic will help.
Good luck.

Do you have a monitor that is in place of the rear view mirror? If so, there is a vertical row of touch screen buttons on the right side. Ours quit working and it baffled me. I started pressing buttons from the top down and on the third button down, the camera started working. It's worth a try.

Thanks for all the info and fixes given. It is finished! When I pulled the backup camera cord both connections came loose! Having corked screwed my head under the dash, I found the white and yellow pigtail and plug the connectors back in and it works! Can't argue with success!
