How many miles were put on it from the factory to the dealer?
Where is the leak?
Will you fix it or return it to the dealer and wait for it?
Issues or problems with a new unit are very normal.

No roof leaks (from anywhere) should ever be considered "normal"on a new unit !
It's sad, and frustrating RVs are slapped together and roll off the line like hamburgers at McDonalds, and yet we except them!
You have a very good concern about "how long" has the roof been leaking! Maybe since it rolled off the line, and whatever time it sat on the dealers lot ?
Good luck !

Hey,the guys that build them are paid by the unit, not the hour. The faster they can push them thru, the bigger thier paycheck. Its what I call "reverse incentave" do it fast and send it off to someone else to sort it out.build another one as fast as we can!

Take it to the dealer and tell them the issue, take the rep out to the trailer and show them.
Make sure it gets written up and that it is understood it IS a warranty issue.
You will likely need to ride the service and parts dept. to make sure they are getting things done on their end.
This is gonna be a slow deal so you will need to have some patience but do NOT let them run roughshod over you.
If you are SURE the dealer is doing their part sit back and wait.

Back in the day in garment manufacturing it was called piece work. I never made it to the "daily" goal and ended up getting canned for it. Piece work and quality just isn't compatible.

And in the automotive world it's called flat rate. And that's how your vehicle is repaired.

The worst part is that if one guy on the line takes longer to do his partand everyone else has to wait on that person for the unit to change stations,he will probably have flat tires on his bicycle when its time to go home.As a result, the one or even two guys that are still working when its time to move it just say "screw it" and dont finish it. The next station doesnt have time to try and fix what he did not do because then they would be too slow,so they just cover it up and move the unit out,no one knows the difference untill it gets to the consumer level and the rest of the story is history.

Very interesting I did not know that when the RVs are built the workers are paid per coach. That certainly explains the problems I've experienced with my new Rockwood. It is in the shop yet again for more repairs to be completed before I hit the road on Saturday for a week-long trip. My experience has been one thing after another has not worked correctly/at all and my RV dealer is running after me trying to correct my complaints/discoveries. I have a really long list of repairs that can wait until this fall when camping season is over but BEFORE the manufacturer warranty expires as they are not critical. The critical errors are being corrected immediately, such as my a/c that will not turn off. Ever. Even if it is 50 degrees outside.

It is sad we the consumer have to go through the things we do. I totally paid for mine out right. 2017 2861DS $81.000 plus the extra warranty I bought is for 7yrs. Or 75,000 miles. I just hope the inside is ok. I'm sorry for all the people who paid ..for something that has driven them crazy with all the return work. Thanks everyone. God Bless you all.

Yes I hope you found the spot,,, sounds like you went after it the right way,,, lets hope the unit is able to properly dry out,,, Make sure your dealer & FR knows about the leak,,, even if you fixed it,,, and you have proof you notified them !!!
