Forester 2701DS where to mount TP holder?

First observed back in April way before we made our decision on this model that there was no TP holder in the bathroom. Salesmen always tell us FR doesn't mount it because everyone wants it in a different place. That's because there is no place at first glance. Walls are made of thin luan plywood with vinyl covering and are not strong. Mounting it across from the toilet would get in your way using the shower and looks bad. The little wall made of thin luan plywood on the right side of the toilet has plumbing for the vanity sink on the other side. The small area on the left side of the toilet has some space but you would have to turn around to use it and be a contortionist.
I have seen a few on the forum use 3m double stick industrial strength tape and mount it to the glass shower door. Thought I would try mounting the TP holder on a stained piece of cherry plank, add a couple of eyelets on top of the plank and use 3M Command hanging strips to attach it to the wall right of the toilet. I can then move it around finding the best practical and esthetically pleasing location. When I do, I can remove the 3M hanging strips, eyelets and rotate the plank and use 3M industrial strength double sided tape to secure it to the wall or shower glass if need be. Hopefully, the added area of the plank will make it more secure.

Why put it on a wall/cabinet/door?

This is the way we roll!

Scott, we may have too but the DW doesn't like that idea. She even wants me to figure out a way to put a hand rail in so she can run back and use the RR. She does that in the Winnebago, but there is something to hang on to in the Forester..

On our 3051S we found a 1x2 piece of framing in the wall next to the toilet with an ordinary stud finder. Mounted it there and all is well.

Use 3m command strips to attach it to the wall. Once you get it where you want: mark the spot, take it down and using extra strength double sided tape, put it where you marked it. This is my usual method of determining where to hang something on a wall and then keeping it there. In three yrs with this camper, nothing has fallen yet. I use short screws sometimes just to give a finished look and/or add a little extra grip.

Smile Alternative to TP Holder

We bought a small basket at Joann Fabrics. perfectly fits a new roll of TP. sits on the floor or in the dry shower when we're on the road.

I mounted ours inside the sink cabinet door. Wood is thick enough and it's not in the way. I've done this on our past 2 trailers. The 1/2 bath amidships is so narrow I don't like it there, since I'm NOT narrow, if you catch my meaning.

I found a nice tp bracket that fits over the drawer front. I made a little extra fabric padding so it would not rub wood. Holes or hooks in walls, easy to drop new roll onto. Got it at large home improvement store. You can also get hooks for doors or drawers for hanging dish towels.

That's the way ours came from the factory. But we have the 3171. Don't know how the bathroom is laid out on the 2701 and if it would work mounting it in the cabinet.

Found our spot!

Only place it will fit without hitting anything. It's mounted on a board for now.
