Forester or Sunseeker, Sunseeker or Forester?

Hello all, first post - I'm about ready to pull the trigger on either a Forester 2301 (Chevy) or Sunseeker 2300 (Chevy).

The Forester dealer is just as far away as the Sunseeker dealer. The Forester dealer has a 2301 on a Chevy in stock, I would have to order the Sunseeker...but I can wait if need be for a new delivery.

My question is related to the differences between the Forester and Sunseeker and the related cost.

The Forester is about $4,500 more than the Sunseeker spec'd out with options to equal the Forester. (power ceiling fan, arctic package, upgraded mattress, TV in bedroom,Heated, Remote Exterior Mirrors, Back Up Camera with Monitor, GPS Navigation, Dyson Cordless RV Vac with Wand, Surround Sound w/Subwoofer & Black Tank Flush) With the Forester I get the soft ceiling, glass LED lights, a solid surface countertop, wood on the fridge, veneer cedar closet, LED nightlights on the floor, fiberglass running boards and paint on the lower part of the coach. What else is there "better" or upgraded in the Forester over those few things that make it worth $4,500 more? Or, are those few things really worth $4,500?

I did search the forum but most of the comparisons were from a couple years ago.

Just a few nicer features on the Forester, both come off the line next to each other at the factory. LED lights, nicer cabinets & drawers, cider lines closet, outside light, black tank flush, fiberglass running boards & skirt paint.

I was able to close the price difference on mine.

Really like the camper!

My Sunseeker has soft ceilings, fiberglass running boards and led lights on the floor. Cabinets and countertops look the exact same to me. Cedar closet looked like the only real difference and that's just plywood.

Eric, you have a 2400R on the MBS chassis so you will have the glass covered LED lights and soft touch ceiling. That comes standard on all MBS chassis'.
  • Fiberglass running boards
  • Glass covered LEDS
  • Solid surface counter tops
  • Skirt paint
  • Cedar lined closets
  • Hidden hinges on all the cabinets
  • Stone Backsplash
  • Remote and Rain censored Fantastic Fan
These all come standard on a forester. You won't see these on a gas model Sunseeker unless it was optioned in and by that point you may as well have bought a Forester.

Thanks. We really need an MBS-specific forum. It gets confusing sometimes!

I've been happy with my 2300, but it's on a Ford chassis

Can't agree with ericlakin more. I keep looking for info on my MBS and most things I find are for trailers.

The soft touch ceiling really cuts down on the road noise. Whether the rest of the options are worth 4500.00 is your call. For us it was worth it to have all of the options we wanted and other extras like the cedar lined wardrobe, air bags in the back etc.

Thanks all for your input. I'm going to look at the model I'm interested in (Forester) on Friday. I'll bring a printout that I got from a Sunseeker dealer with all the options to match the Forester (except the ones you can't get on a Sunseeker) and I'll ask the salesman to convince me that the Forester is worth the extra $4500. We'll see where that goes!
