From the Roof to the Basement
Yesterday I was on the roof installing a SAT Dish. Today, it was in the basement installing a Thetford Sani-Com system.
It was super easy - found 20 Amp power source nearby (the converter is right next door and had an unused 12-v connection that's always hot) and the unit just twisted on to the dump pipe.
This photo doesn't show much but it's there. On the left is the Sani-Con hose and sever connection. The Sani-Con pump in the middle looks square but that's just the control box sitting on tip the round pump. The hose on the right is for the black tank flush.
I'm anxious to try this out. Seems like it will simplify the entire process.

Creativepart, why the Sani-con, are you using it at home to dump?

Yes, we plan to dump through our sewer clean out at home. But also, because it's easier and cleaner.

I used a Sewer Solution kit for years to dump using a cleanout I installed at the house. About 30 feet and up about 2 feet. Worked great because we have high water pressure. When we had our sewer line to the street redone, I had a 4" cleanout place right at the sidewalk where I can now just run a 20 foot 3" RV sewer hose to it. Actually, I have full hookup here with a 30 amp dedicated panel and water spigot.

Much slower and wastes a lot of water. Not good here in California!

I did a lot of research of the Sani-Con. I found a lot of people that had one and loved it. And many that never owned one but thought it a bad idea.
Ever noticed that all expensive coaches come with them standard? I doubt that's because they don't work well.
I've used the traditional dump hose for 15-years and now I'm going to find out for myself.
I'm talking about the Sani-Con not the Sewer Solution. Water is not an issue.

I know they work well and I even considered getting one but my old Winnebago had too small an area to hook it up. I suppose I could have made a short 3' hose with fittings and lay it on the ground. But that was when I was a young newbie. Now I am an old newbie

I had a sani-con in my Diplomat. It's cool...but not sure it's better. My only issue was it took a long time to empty the tanks.

If it is now on all the upper end coaches means they have added something else to charge you 5 to 10 times what it cost them that's just business not a upgrade best to add it like you did if you can't live without

I bought the sani-con to use both at home and our cottage at the lake. We have no plumbing options out there. Just an outhouse. I can use the sani-con to pump into the outhouse. And not have to drive out to a park to dump. We also have no electricity so the solar panels are very helpful. We are essentially boondocking there all summer. Also installed a stay a while? propane adapter so I can augment from a 30 lb tank and fill it as necessary. Flawless execution. Very happy with the unit and our year of travel. 27,000 km of smiling along the road!
