Front cap marker lights

Question, 1) how do you replace/remove these marker lights?
2) should I sealed these with caulk to avoid any leaks?

There is a rubber grommet around the edge of the hole in the fiberglass and the body of the light is a smooth cylinder that is pressed into the grommet. The chrome trim piece covers the rubber grommet. I also wanted to be sure they were well sealed and found that I could not pull them out very far because there was not much slack in the wires. I ended up pulling out a bit and putting some clear sealant around the light body and pressed them back into place.

It is amazing how much water can come in through those lights if they leak. It may not be the prettiest solution, but I used lots of clear silicone sealer to stop mine from leaking.

So still better to seal it even though the lights are tight?

Well, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. We spend a lot of time in our 2017 SunSeeker 2400W (18 months in the last 3 years, 47000 miles). Those lights did not leak until they did, driving on I10 across Louisiana in one of the heaviest rainstorms we have ever experienced. The leak soaked the headliner in the top of the cap, and flooded one of the led lights, knocking out about 1/2 the diodes. There was water sloshing around in the lower part of the cap that dripped into the cab where the sun visors are attached, and this continued for several days. It took at least a week before the headliner dried out. Luckily, no stains. The silicone is clear, so the lights still work. Before we hit the road this fall, I can assure you we will dab some more on those lights.
