Gas alarm located

Well just to share in case it happens to others...

Little long but interesting story on tracking down.

Put in new RecPro theater seating last time we had it home about a few weeks ago. Took it back out to storage garage after that.

Went out Sunday to pick it up to get ready for trip. No issues or alarms at that point.

So it was 90 degrees here and the coach heated up pretty good. Smelled funny inside but figured it was the new furniture off gassing of the materials.

Later that afternoon I go outside and hear a loud beeping. Turns out it is the gas alarm / CO monitor going off. Other than the furniture smell nothing seemed out of the norm. Propane tank off, stove controls all off just in case it bled residual.

Reset and it stayed off for a while then went off again.

Opened the door and put a fan inside blowing out the door. Alarm stayed off.

Removed the detector since it is a 2014 model year - detector out dated so left unhooked and ordered new one.

Went out today and hooked up again - after the startup alarm went off immediately.

Started looking around for other things that could cause. Called RecPro to ask about materials off gassing causing - nope. Opened battery compartment under stairs - hear bubbling - on to something now.

Bottom line both coach batteries were toast and system working overtime trying to get them charged. They were original as well so got 6 years out of them.

Pulled and a trip to the store later two new ones to go in.

Alarm hooked back up and not a peep since taking the batteries out.

Now to clean the battery compartment which was not in my trip prep list and out the new ones in.
