On my last leg of my recent trip, I drove 607 km (377 miles). The gauge was right on 1/4 tank and it took 152 liters (40 gallons) to fill it. Not down to the red low fuel indicator but at least I know that I have maybe 55 liters left at 1/4 tank depending on how low I would dare drain it while driving.

I usually fill at 1/2 tank but I knew that the closer I got to home, the cheaper the gas got.

Our driving strategy should never leave us searching for a gas station unless we somehow develop a leak. We try not to drive any more than 350 miles in a day and always start off with a full tank. If we stick to that plan we should never have less than a 1/4 tank before filling up again.
