Magnadyne. It's a multi function unit that handles the GPS, radio, weatherband, CD, DVD, surround sound, phone Bluetooth, and a bunch of other functions. Some say not that well. Search "magnadyne" on the forums and you will get PAGES of thoughts. It's a steep learning curve at best. And I'm fairly techie. Honestly what frustrates me the most is how poor FM reception is. I live in Cincinnati. It can't pick up the strongest FM station on the highway bypass around town. My Ford Fusion picks up that same station a 100 miles away. Learn to like AM. I was driving to Indiana last week and it pulled in our strongest AM station 200 miles away. Or play music from your phone or iPod via Bluetooth or an aux in cable.

Paul, did you check you Loc/Dis selection? On page 12 of the manual it tells you the LOC button on the radio menu is the option for selecting local/distance. Pressing the button will display LOC:ON for local only and LOC:OFF for distance reception. It made a difference on my coach.

I have. On both Magnadyne's actually. I say both because I also have this other issue of the time skipping around. In the first 30 minutes or so of starting / driving the unit, the time will skip around about 4 - 6 different times. It generally settles on 3 hours earlier. Called Magnadyne. They sent me new software for the first radio. That didn't work. Called them back. They sent me a replacement radio. The time skipped around on that one too. I called them back. They didn't believe me. I actually shot a short video on my iPhone of me setting the time & then it adjusting seconds later. I sent it to them just so they didn't think I was crazy. They believed me then but were totally at a loss. So I've just learned to live with it. Anyhow, short answer to your question, I've played with the local / distant setting on 2 different radios & the FM reception is no different.

Well, it was worth a shot.
I also found my antenna mast was loose.

That's weird on the time issue. Seems like it might be a voltage issue since most electric clocks use power to set the oscillations.

I just got the standard Jensen Radio with remote and added a Sirius module. I use a portable Garmin 1450 GPS. The Jensen seems to pull in stations great. I have had Garmins for years and use them on everything from cars to snowmobiles and ATVs since many types of maps are readily available. Considering upgrading to an RV specific unit as it may help identify low clearances but I have not had any problems in that area yet. As was mentioned many people seem to have a lot of problems with the Magnadyne even if you are "technology savvy".
