Hi all,
I kept checking and found more debris and also saw ants in the hole where the wiring for the fan comes out. Getting carpenter ant bait to set out for the ants. They are not the large carpenter ants but smaller ones that do not go after the regular ant bait I set out.
Thanks again everyone for the help.

I was away and slow to respond but to finish this post, attached are the tiny ants that made big piles of sawdust in my rv. Carpenter ant bait, not the one shown did the trick.
Thanks again to all who responded. Click image for larger version

I think I'd get an exterminator to dust the attic space. I had those suckers in my house, the stuff the exterminators can use is much stronger and it will get them all and keep them out.

Just a side note to this thread.... I've lived in the Colorado mountains for over 40 years, 20 of those years were in a log home. A month after we moved in we found carpenter ants were tunneling through the logs. I washed the entire house, inside and out, with a borax solution made for log homes with carpenter ant infestation. It worked!

Now I don't take anything for granted when it comes to the destructive potential of ants.
