Thx Roger. Guess there's no real reason to update at this point for me.

For the heck of it, I am trying what the dealer suggested and that was to contact Jensen. I rep. came back with the following:

Response By Email (Ed) (07/21/2015 01:07 PM)
Dear Ben,

You don't need a code. Download the 'tool box' to the computer and insert your SD card and from there everything is point and click.

Thank you for using Audiovox Electronics.

Customer Service

It's getting closer, but I am getting an error, and it won't connect to their server. I thought if someone else would try the above, maybe they can get it to work.

PS: Go to Naviextras.com to get the Naviextras Toolbox software for a pc.

I see that Naviextras updates only works on Windows platform and of course I switched over 2 years ago to Apple and iMac. I don't think Forest Rivers has even started to build my MH yet anyway. Maybe it will come with the updated 2015Q1.

I finally got Naviextras Toolbox to work on another pc. It only updated voice and some languages. No new map info. Looks like I have to buy the latest US/Canada map update for $64.95 the get the 2015 Q1. Map data provided by Tom Tom. Has anyone done this yet? If so, was it worth it?

I use my Garmin for my navigation. I do use the Jensen GPS only because it provides a clock! I can't believe Ford could not put digital clock in the dash! I could use a watch but I basically stopped wearing one when I retired.

Would not waste your money on map updates. It's a farce and does virtually nothing to improve the maps. I get free up grades on my Garman and do not see any big difference except install red light camera locations voice and such. I got bit once on paying for a upgrade never again will I pay. Later RJD

The maps don't upgrade when you update your SD card. Just some language files etc. the only option offered is to purchase a map update.

Stagecoachdriver, I have a Mac as well, but I run Win 8.1 on it using Parallels Desktop. So, the PC only GPS update software runs fine on my Mac via the PC Virtual Machine.

I learned the hard way that Naviextras does not support Apple platforms. When I contacted them they basically told me to borrow somebody else's computer to download the update.

I couldn't imagine anyone letting me download anything on their personal computer...but, I found an option. Our local library has a dozen or so PC's available for patrons use. I found that they have built in card slots for the micro SD cards. I downloaded the Naviextras toolbox on the library computer, plugged in the micro SD card from my Jensen unit and it updated easy as you please. I registered on Naviextra's website a couple days before I did the download and didn't have any problem.

Captain Skip, when you have time, can you check and see what the date and version of your software update is. Thx, Ben

Version is 9.6.13.268494 Date is 11/13/12

It did update something on it when I did the download last week, just not sure what. Maybe they only give the next version up from what's loaded in the unit at the factory for free, anything newer is probably what they charge for. I'd be curious to see if anyone purchased an update and see what version/date they have.

Not the maps. If you look at the map dates they are old.

I had not mentioned this previously, but after I picked up my Forester last month on the way home I took a new Toll road for part of my trip home. The toll road wasn't on the GPS's map so it showed me traveling through fields and not on a road. The Toll road was completed at least a year and a half ago.

I just looked on Naviextra's site. They're showing a Q1 2015 map update available. Based on that I would say that the "free update" we're getting is pretty much nothing. As Creativepart pointed out, he's driving on roads that don't exist on the Jensen GPS.

Yeah, there are no free updates in spite of what the Jensen owners manual clearly states. "Free map update during first 90-days"

Where is Jensen and Forest River in all of this - silence.

Looks like we all have the same version. Looking for someone that has the latest version and if so, I would like to see if they can find a street in West Jordan, Utah. The street name is Wilshire. Our old Garmin can find it. Thx, Ben

Got my Forester today, pulled the micro memory card. Can't use my IMac so I tried my HP mini notebook with XP, says you need windows 7+. But I was able to get an account name and password and find my model. Inserted the memory card and after a few times of it saying the card was lock I got it to work, I think. It's been on Device content manager and Validating device content. please wait

OK, how long. It's been 30 minutes.
Tried clicking around and RT Nav shows last updated Feb 5, 2015. But when I put it in the radio, the maps show Nov 2012

Sage, when you run the program on the computer with the card in one of the readers on the computer and It recognizes your info, you should see a date when the gps was first used. I think on the left side of the software screen. If it is over the 30 days, which I suspect it is, you will have to pay for the map update. I won't do it until I can get confirmation that it can find a couple addresses I have tried with no success.

Well, I have been able to install the toolbox and finally get to correct screens. Checked to the left as you mentioned Ben and found registered with PC tool Jan 9, 2015 and First GPS Fix June 26, 2015. Obviously, the delivery driver turned it on and started the 30 day clock. That takes care of that! Not spending $70 for a year of updates. Will just have to use it as is and my Garmin Nuvi.
Thanks
Wish the darn radio had weather. Have it in my Winnebago radio and use it for updates. Can always use my scanner or Ham radio I guess.

I'm giving up. I'm leaving on a 3,000 mile trip next Wednesday and I want the latest maps. But I'll not pay for a full year. Just the one update is all.

I just gotta get a bigger mini-sd card. I hear the new update won't fit on a 4 gig card.
