I have never heard of an ice maker heater. I do know that tank heaters are only for your holing tanks when freezing temperatures are expected. I would doubt that they have anything to do with the ice maker.
It is automatic. There is a temp sensor near the refer brain that turns it on when necessary. That being said the water line from the coach water suppy to the icemaker valve has no freeze protection on it.
The refer freeze protection covers the water valve and the water line from the valve into the freezer compartment.
