Our 2016 Forester 3011DS has a four-door Dometic refrigerator with ice maker. It was my impression at walk through that the ice maker worked only off the freshwater tank via the pump. We use only city water on our trips. Is there a hidden switch or bypass that would let us use the ice maker on city water?
I've used mine on city water since day one. Never flipped any switch and I know it was drawing from the fresh tank when I got it because it was winterized with antifreeze in the fresh tank and I had pink ice for a couple days!
