In Dash DVD Player Safety Feature - Want To Disable

On the dash DVD player, I realize why they put the safety feature of having to have the emergency brake on to play a DVD, but is there a way to bypass or disable that feature? I don't want to watch the dash while driving, however I DO want the option to play a movie on the front TV where my kids can watch a movie while traveling on the long trips. Sure, I can add a portable DVD player to that TV, but would rather not. The whole idea of having these features in a motorhome is where they can be used, camping, OR traveling. I know it can be disabled as I've seen many a vehicle done, but I have no idea if it can be done on this unit. Anybody ever fooled with it?

Have you tried it yet? I was under the impression that the movie will play on the "output" (overhead TV) but not on the dash screen. That little blue warning screen only comes up on the dash screen...it is not duplicated on the overhead screen.

You're right, it does work on the TV. Just adds to the list of things the dealer doesn't know. I swear they need to have school with them on the models they sell. If i were in service or sales, I'd be embarrassed if i didn't know Everything about each model. One day I'll let my daughter train them, as she knows more than they do. Guy told me it wasn't going to happen without the brake on. Of course that was the same guy
who said the slide out alignment was normal. Maybe I just got stuck with the wrong guy that day.

Thanks for clearing that up. Kids are happy now.
