My 2013 Forester #3051S has a Power Converter (WFCO Ultra III WF-9800 Series). It supplies 12 volts to the RV when on shoreline or I assume generator power. If you shut-off your 12 volt main disconnect switch the Converter is still powering your RV. But, I always leave on the house battery switch as it is required for charging to take place.
which are you talking about, an inverter or a converter.
all RV's have converters but only a few come with an inverter, usually large motorhomes.

My Class "A" diesel had a 2,000 watt inverter that would power all outlets and the refrigerator while driving down the road. I have seen small inverters in some Winnebago Class "C" models that power one outlet near the inverter. There are a lot of options if you want to add an inverter just make sure your house batteries can handle it. I will just use my generator if necessary.
