Jensen radio gps

Got a 2015 with a Jensen radio/gps. I can't figure
out why the gps sends us on a different route when
the route we want to take is a straight shot. We
have program it both as a truck and then a auto.
Told it to take the safe way and the fast way. Finally
we just use it as a reference to the road ahead
and mute the sound.

Anyone else with this radio have the same problem?

Is there a setting for route preferences? Some GPS will default to taking you on interstate highways no matter what. If you change preferences to give secondary roads equal or more preference, that may change the way it routes. Selecting the fastest route will almost always take you a longer but "faster" way via interstates.

Amazing--I just noticed that they fixed the signature line (not displaying) from ipads! (Sorry, a little off topic).

Check and see if your route was set for "short" or "fast". Can make a very big difference.

Just got back to Oregon yesterday from picking up my 2015 3051s in Ohio. Made a mini vacation of 2930 mile trip coming home by way of the Black Hills and Yellowstone and a few other places. It took a little while to figure out how to make the GPS do what I wanted. I started by Ohio to Oregon address to address and it wanted to go the southern route, I wanted the northern route by way of the Black Hills and Yellowstone. So how i figured out my route was to use Yahoo Maps where you put in points A & B and then can move the by clicking on the line and move it where you want. When you are done with your exact route, then pick waypoints on your route of cities and towns and go to zipcodes. com and get zipcodes. Then go to the motorhome and put in your route point by point in create a route. putting a zipcode is easier and quicker than typing in all the names. This worked great for most fo the trip except for western Wyoming from Cody to Idaho, through Yellowstone where the GPS seemed to have no maps and it said unnamed roads a lot. The way around this is to go to campgrounds near you and click on them as waypoints it seems to know where they are and I got through that part of the trip with no porblems once I figured that out. Using zipcodes as waypoints it will pick like the center of the town so as you get close to a waypoint go into the edit route and delete that waypoint before you get there and it will just keep going on your route. I did not like the american lady voice so changed to the aussie guy he made a better traveling partner cause I did the 2930 miles by myself, wife was home taking care of the dogs.

Really? My territory includes Oregon and you head to Ohio. I could have put you in touch with a local dealer that would take care of you. What part of Oregon for future reference?

Hi Brian,
I talked to you on my way back when I stopped at the factory. You went down on the line to see if you could find a replacement part for a minor problem I had with my 3051S and all the units with that part was on backorder. You had Mike resolve the problem which he is doing now that I am back home and will be getting me a replacement and sending it out to change over and send the other back as for a core charge.
I had told you why I did not buy locally because of high price and attitude of local dealer. You recommended another dealer in my area but that was after the fact. As to where I am at I live in Damascus OR about eight miles from the local dealer which lost the business.
From what Mike told me congratulations are in order on your new position, from my dealings with you, you will be very good at the position.
