The gas cap is a standard Ford part. I got a lockable gas cap for our 2011 model 3100 from NAPA. The gas tank and cap come from Ford as part of the cutaway chassis with the motorhome prep package. Just to be sure, tell the parts person the year model of the chassis, not the coach, and take the cap with you if you can. I was headed for the gas station anyway so I tried it out before I left their parking lot.

Put your original cap in your coach. I did and was glad I had done it. I left the lockable cap on a gas pump the first time I filled it on the road. Luckily the station still had it when I passed through a week later. Since then I leave the key in the cap and put it on the pump as I fill up. I can't leave the cap with the key still in it!

Make sure if your cap is vented that you get a vented cap or vice versa .

The cap should not be vented. The tank vents through the emissions control equipment to prevent gasoline vapors from escaping from the tank. If the gas cap is loose or a vented cap is substituted it will will display a gas cap icon on the instrument panel.

PS I didn't see it in the original post, but I assumed he has a gasoline Ford chassis. The same comments should apply to a gasoline Chevy, but I don't know for sure. If it's a Diesel, ignore my comments.

Thanks, sorry for not saying that it was a Ford chassis.

I went to Ford dealer looking for a lockable gas cap for my 2013 2300 Sunseeker and Ford guy told me they don't make them and if I was to buy an off market one to make sure it was vented or it could cause the sensors on the rig to have problems.

I know nothing about this matter, but that is what I was told by Ford themselves.

Thanks, everyone, I have been checked the local Auto Zone & Ford dealer and that's pretty much the info that I got.
