Locking gas cap for 2016 E450

I have been unable to find a locking gas cap for our 2017 Forester 3011DS. Has anyone found one that fits?

The one I have is a Stant 10510. You will not be able to use the OEM "dummy cord" as the Stant locking gas cap does not have the groove for the ring to snap in...

I bought mine on ebay for less than $10....

Red, do you feel the cap fits exactly like the OEM? If so, I'll be getting one. I'm amazed Ford doesn't see fit to make one available. Thanks for the info.

You may want to re-think that... In some areas, a locking gas cap is more pain that what its worth. Seems the miscreants will crawl under your vehicle with a container and a cordless drill, and drill a hole in your tank to steal your gas. Happened to 2 cars at my wife's work.

I don't run locking caps. I'd rather just have to replace the fuel than the fuel AND the tank.

The only difference I've noticed is that the retention strap isn't usable on the Stant cap. And now you have yet another key to keep track of....

Ford used to sell Stant locking caps as a OEM accessory.

Locking gas cap for 2016 E450

I picked up my locking gas cap at Autozone. Worked great for the past year & half. Dummy strap doesn't work but having the keys in the cap means I can't drive away.

Cool. Thanks Wandering, for the info and pic. Debating whether or not to get one after Cowracer's comment. There have been instances of tank drilling in my city, but only when gasoline prices approach $3.00+/gallon and usually at a company parking yard. I have a motion detector to alert about any tampering.

" I have a motion detector to alert about any tampering"
Then it should alert you about someone bagging your fuel

Youroo, What year is your 2500 and is it gas or diesel? Mine is a 2015.5 diesel and it has fuel cap. Did Chevy follow Ram and do away with it. I don't think I would like that. When I wash my truck I wash inside the fuel door sometimes.

It is a 2017 gas, and they also supply a plastic Mickey mouse adapter to cram in the hole for fuel can filling! Youroo!!

I look at it like this. I've been driving since 1970. I've never had gas stolen from me. So I don't worry about locking gas caps. If it happens, it happens, but if it does I'd rather it be siphoned that have the fuel tank drilled or worse.

Yup.
I've also had to take a pry bar to more than a few customers caps when the key gets lost, or it just won't unlock.

Also, the gas cap is the number one emissions code violator. I'll just stick to what comes with it.

I put a locking gas cap on mine, not because of theft, but because of vandalism. I live in a nice area, but a neighbors van had something dumped into his tank and ruined his engine.
