LP Generator.

I have a 2015 Forester 2401R and when we run the generator it operates at full throttle all the time. Shouldn't it cycle up or down depending on the load required. Also I have a nightlight that is plugged in all the time and it flickers even when the generator is running full steam. Our coffee maker (Keurig single cup) sometimes does not work because not enough power.
Any suggestions please!

We turn off the heat/air, electric to fridge and electric to hot water heater when running coffee maker.

Night Light

You might purchase a 12V LED nightlight instead of a 110V.

The generator sounds like it is running full speed because it has to to maintain proper 60 cycle frequency. If you had an inverter type generator (Most Honda units) it would idle down when under low load because it operates differently and does not use engine speed to maintain 60 cycle frequency.
