Maybe one of the factory folks can chime in here - what exactly is the issue and what's the fix to correct this? Can a non-Forest River service dealer fix this under the recall? The nearest FR dealer is an afternoons drive away......

What we've done for other Forester repairs under warranty, etc; we called Forest River headquarters in Indiana & they referred us to authorized Forest River RV dealerships near our hometown. Going to a non-authorized dealership would make us pay for all repairs.

Really? They've authorized other places to do warranty work before with authorization, that's how places like CampingWorld do warranty work on all brands....

If you took it to a non-authorized, you may need to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed. You'd have to call FR to find out.

I called a local authorized dealer and they are ordering the parts for the repair. Hope they come in before my next trip. Should I cancel the trip if it isn't fixed in time?

I can probably get by without using propane can i just shut the tank off as a precaution?

Can I inspected under my slide to see if the LPG line has been compromised in any way?

You can see where the LP line elbows into the bottom of the slide. If you look from the outside while someone brings the slide in you should be able to see what type of clearance you have.

Ours should be getting the recall work done tomorrow morning. It is apparently some additional clamps to prevent the LP bracket from breaking on the slide. If this bracket breaks, the LP line can get pinched when the slide comes in causing a leak. I'll see if I can be outside when the repair guy gets here tomorrow to grab a few pics.

Trying to post pics from the iPad. The recall is just two small clamps on the metal LP line under the slide.

I just took my 2013 into La Mesa RV in San Diego and they took care of the recall matter with no problems. The only thing was that FR delivered a part that was not what my service rep was expecting to see. That said, in the end I got the recall item fixed :-)
