Reconnecting the motors hold the slide in place. If necessary to unscrew motors, then traveling rods are needed to secure it.

Nice link Sage. I think I will practice that one at home, just incase it ever happens on the road. Anyone ever disengaged the motors and if so, was it very hard to do? I'm sure it would a lot easier to push the slide in with the motors disengaged instead of disconnecting the controller box.

As I've mentioned before, my travel rods that are probably for my Schwintek ,should I have to remove the motors, are 18.5" each and the slide-out is around 29". So I made my own out of EMT 1" pipe that my neighbor had left over from his electrical job.
I also made a copy of the Schwintek manual and placed it in the compartment under the slide-out bed where the controller is. I had added a hatch under the bed for easy access to the controller should the need arise and I also have a marked view of my FW tank. Otherwise, you have to take your bed apart or pull the fuse/power/converter panel to find the slide controller.
Notice in the bottom photo the FW tank when empty has 3 gallons left. My science experiment!

I did receive travel rods for my lippert slide. I will make a set for the schwintek slide for an emergency. Thank you all for great feed back.
