Max-Air (Max-Air II) or Fan-Tastic Vent cover

Has anyone installed one of these and how do they work.

I have the MaxxAire covers on all 4 of my vents. They are worth their weight in gold.

No problems with rain getting in if I leave the vents open. can also open the vents while traveling without wind damage to the vent covers.

First thing we do is put max air covers on every rig we have owned. When hail breaks everything on the roof the max airs are still perfect. We also leave the vents open when towing with no problems.

I have black fan-tastic Ultra breeze on front and rear fans. Basic fan-tastic fan in front that came with the rig and Maxx-aire in back over the bed. Black covers minimize the sun light shing thru in the morning

First trip out, I installed the 3 MaxAir II's on my Sunseeker. I can keep the vents open while traveling. Took maybe an hour to install all three.

We've had MaxxAir II's on our last 3 campers. Agree with what everybody said about the advantages. Fan-Tastic vent covers are taller so you can open the roof vents more but they are more expensive.

The MaxAire11's are easier to flip in order to clean. If you go with a Maxaire 1 still pretty simple but you will need to bring a wrench up with you..the 11's are just a cotter pin you pull...the 11's also allow for a bit more air movement...I installed both and prefer the 11's and they are just a few bucks more.

Max-Air (Max-Air II) or Fan-Tastic Vent cover

Looking at installing a couple of MaxAir II's on our unit. Where's the best place to purchase them from?

I watched this video and I am leaning towards the Fan-tastic Vent cover. I think $15.00 more for a more efficient system works for me.

Wth the Fantastic vent cover you will need to remove caulk and screws in your flashing and insert their screws and re-caulk. I wasn't prepared to do that so went with the Maxaire despite what this video shows...Our fans move ample air with the Maxaires, don't think they are restrictive at all. Although you see a difference in the damper in the video, I think it has minimal effect on ability to actually move air...not enough for me to re-caulk around the flashing in any case.

WFD, I like the idea of not having to remove caulk and screws. Think I will go with the MaxAir II for that reason.

Very smart try not to disturb that seal around the vent. Nobody wants a roof leak or worst getting a leak between the rubber membrane and plywood decking that will cause the wood to delaminate. Roofs are expensive to repair, I know mine just cost 5400.00 to do and a week of time at the factory.....

Installed my Fantastic vent cover when I also installed a Maxxaire fan with remote over queen bed. Couldnt have taken more than an hour and tube and a half of Dicor. No leaks, even tho it was uncovered this winter

I decided to go with the Fantastic covers. It was very easy - 1/2 hour to install 3 covers. The small amount of caulk that is removed does not effect the sealing of the vent. A little goop in the screw hole / edge of vent / install the brackets / and then a little goop on the top off the new screw.
