Maxx Air Fan or Fantastic Fan?
Fantastic Fans used to be used in the Forester and Sunseeker models. I now see in the Forester brochure under standard features and options that they show the Maxx Air fans being used. Are the Fantastic fans no longer available in the Forester? Also does anyone have any opinion on which is best? Pros and cons?
Thanks

Our 2016 Forester 2401R came with the FantasticFan vent in the living room. It's the model with multiple speed settings (from super fast to very slow and non-audible levels), automatic temperature control (i.e., thermostat!), rain sensor with automatic closer, and manual rain override switch. Really a nice piece of technology!

Have had both over the years. Both work well in our experience. Currently have Fantastic Fans and they seem a smidge quieter but that is purely subjective. Both are good products.

I can't speak to the MaXX fan quality, but can speak to the quality and life time guarantee of the Fantastic Fan.
On a previous coach the lift motor failed while traveling. They overnighted a new (very easy to install) motor to me at my next destination.
Ten years later the fan motor died(we were full-timing and the fan was used daily). They sent me an entire complete unit. I only needed to cut a couple of wires, lift out the old and drop in the new.
Love their service.

Fantastic is no longer a private company. Service and support have suffered.

Had a Maxx installed by the dealer.
Remote makes it easy for the height challenged one to turn it off/on.
With the cover closed the fan acts like a ceiling fan to move air around.
Good money well spent IMHO.

Big difference is that the fantastic fan is just a fan. Lid opens as normal. Rain sensor, no rain sensor...lid still opens up and to use in the rain most people use a "maxAir cover".
The MaxxAir fan...has the cover built in.

But not the ones that are being used in Sunseeker and Forester. I added those just before I left and added the same ones as soon as I got to Dynamax

Not to brag (seriously), but our Fan-Tastic Vent has 13 manually selectable speeds, as well as auto variable speed mode. Also reversible air flow. Optional remote which FR does not provide. Good for opening or closing at night without ALL the effort of getting out of bed!
Check out model 7350. http://www.fantasticvent.com/fan-tas...html#model7350
Not knocking the Maxxair - haven't seen it.

I concur with bclemens. Both are good fans but the maxx air deluxe has a built in cover which is awesome. They also have a superior remote.

I changed out the bath room fan first with one that actually moves air. Both in or out. Next I changed out the factory fan in the front with a Fantastic. Put the newest Fantistic in Bed Room. This is a great fan because you can use as a ceiling fan! Last I put a Maxx Air in kitchen area. Another great fan, also can be a ceiling fan. Now 4 ceiling fans might be over kill, NOT!!! working great here in Florida with rain. Southwest, you heard about the weather here!
