Since I finally got most of the basics working for our inaugural trip, I had some time to start working on a few improvements/modifications that I have in mind. The first was to get the bed ready. I found some unused indoor/outdoor carpet which I used to cover the unfinished plywood bed platform and then used a piece of small lumber to attach to the plywood for additional support and to create a attachment point so that I could use the inside platform as a support for the bed. Additionally, in the event that I need to access the fresh water tank or wiring it will keep it raised while I complete the work.

PS If you do this, just make sure that the placement of the additional support strip has enough clearance to allow the slide to operate without being stopped by the end of the bed box.

Well finally got to putting some light tint on the cab windows. Just enough to cut the glare. . First pic is without and second after tint install. I don't know how good the pic actually shows the improvement. I also installed my new oxygenic shower head. Super easy mod for anyone. Even if your DIY challenged. Works great!

Our new 2800 showed up at the dealership this morning! Since we weren't planning on going out this weekend we'll PDI it on next Wednesday. That will give the dealership time to handle all the folks in a rush for this weekend. Plus it will give them plenty of time to go through it and install the MaxxAir 7500K in the bedroom.

So two quick questions:

What air pressure are you running in the rear suspension?

What tire pressures are you running front and rear?

Thanks,

I run 75psi in front tires and 80psi in the rears. . As for airbags I have run 65lbs in each. It drove so well I haven't experimented with any other lbs

Thank you. I'll probably play with the air suspension a bit and see what it does for the ride and handling.

Thanks for the air pressure info. Took a much closer look at our GTS this AM and it is going to need some exterior paint touch up. There is a 2-3 inch sagging paint run on the passenger fender and a nasty scratch on the rear cargo door and rear bumper. The good news is there is an excellent paint and body shop just up the street from our dealer. They touched up the delivery paint damage on our MBS and you couldn't even tell where it was redone.

The inside looks pretty good so far. We'll know more when we do the PDI on Wednesday. A couple changes will happen before then anyway. The plastic toilet it shipped with is being changed out for the Dometic 310. And the MaxxAir 7500 is being added to the bedroom. One weird thing, the Ultra Leather now looks dirty! Instead of just the plain tan color it now has some brown and black tones that make it look dirty. It is like that on all the ultra leather surfaces so it is intentional....

Couple things I noticed today; our outside grab bar is straight, parallel to the wall, instead of the curved style they were using. It is still clear plastic, with chrome mounts, so I should be able to light it with some LEDs. And the outside "porch" light is a small LED unit instead of a old school "porch" light like shown in the brochure. I like the new look, it is much cleaner, I just hope it is bright enough and that there is a yellow lens in all the "stuff" stashed in the fridge!

We do our PDI tomorrow morning and hopefully will bring our GTS home in the afternoon. I've got my eleven page PDI checklist printed and ready to go along with the tools and various gauges, meters, and test sets I'll need. Anyone have anything in particular to closely check on the GTS?

Just from what I've read here that the new units come with a plastic toilet. If that's true and it matters to you see if you can convince them to change it out

It is true and my dealer agreed to swap it out for the previously standard Dometic 310 unit. Now I just need to get one of those fancy seats...

You may want to keep an eye on the storage compartments underneath. Mine were pulling away from the body of the coach. Unfortunately next to the fresh water tank, the wide gap was just filled with silicone. Not nearly enough screws to hold against that tension.

I just got back from two weeks fishing at a remote campsite with no services. Everything went great but I have a problem for the wiring pro's, I used a small inverter in the 12v outlet in the bedroom and plugged the bedroom tv into that. (For some reason my main tv is 12v but the bedroom is 110v) It worked fine until it didn't, now the outlet is dead and I can't find a fuse for it. Everything else is working, I pulled the outlet and there is definitely no power to it or any sign of an inline fuse. Any ideas?

I've seen 12VDC outlets fail from over heating. Testing for power with a multimeter at the wiring on the back of the outlet would be my next step.

Great PDI today... The MBS took almost seven hours to do, fixing issues as they were uncovered, while the GTS only took two hours to go through the same basic PDI list.

The only items found were:

Paint Damage and Issues: As I mentioned earlier there is shipping damage on the rear bumper and rear cargo hatch, and the front right fender has a sagging run in the paint.

The rear TV is toast. First, the remote control doesn't work, second the unit will not accept a DVD. BTW this is a 12VDC TV not a 115VAC powered one... New TV on order.

Jensen Entertainment Center. The unit would not accept a CD or DVD. Turned out there is a shipping screw that someone didn't remove when installing the unit. The warranty coordinator had seen that one before so it was a quick fix when he came out to check out the unit.

The PDI tech had discovered the AC power wasn't properly wired. The unit ran on shore power but the generator set wasn't connected to the transfer switch. He had corrected that before we arrived today.

That was it for PDI issues. Half hour doing paperwork after the PDI and we now have our new GTS!

A couple observations:

I found out the water pump has an inline fuse next to the pump in the water compartment. Are there any other in line fuses anyone is aware of?

My DW is in love with the optional recliners and their little snack tables...

I really like the "Auto" leveling system... I won't be without that little toy ever again!

Overall today was a much better "First" day than we had with our MBS...

Some notes on that bedroom tv - it will not accept a DVD unless you set the source to DVD. Of course if your remote is not working it would be difficult to change the source. There are buttons on the top of the TV and you could do it from those. But how are you going to see those to know which ones to push.

ALL three of the TVs in my coach are 12-volt.

Thanks, I pulled out the outlet and there is no power at the back that's why I'm wondering if there is an inline fuse somewhere, I couldn't find anything in the wall.
