Not sure on those if they are slide locks they're kind of short looking compared to my slide locks and mine are adjustable. Was told the same as others make sure you remove them before you open the slide. Tried mine once fell out before I got out of the campground, couldn't get them in any different way so gave up.

I snapped a couple pics as examples.
One pic is how mine fits. I have two bars for my one slide.

Mine lay flat on top of the slide. Seems like they might work their way loose or out as I am driving down the road. I will give it a try but my biggest concern is trying to extend the slide with them still in!
I am taking it out on its maiden voyage Thanksgiving weekend, I am sure after that i will have more questions.
Thanks everyone for your help.

They're there to hold things solid in the cupboards.I'll bet they do twist and telescope out.I've got some-and mine do.

Boss Hoss, these don't budge. They 3/4"-1" in diameter, I have never found a tension rod with that diameter.

Slide locks should only be used when there is a malfunction of the actuators. If the slide has to be manually closed, the slide locks hold it in the closed position.

This is my understanding as well (for this type of slide bar).

Look like a wardrobe slide, too short for a bigger slide.

This has been adressed countless times. They are used to hold the slides in if youve had to release them to manually slide back in

Thanks everyone. I agree the length fits between the slide wall and the bulkhead. They will be stored in case they are needed someday, hopefully never!
Thanks again for the information.

See if you can find something like these to tie to the rods and one to cover the switch for the slide.

We have them for our slide too. Was told they are for if your slide malfunctions. Hope we never have to use them.

My first TT had a slide lock on top of the slide, out of sight in a cabinet. I tied @20" of red flagging tape to it and left it hanging out the cabinet door when in place. I was so scared that DW would try to open slide with the lock in place.

Mystery Rods
After reading everyone's theories and answers on this thread regarding the mystery rods that are included in motorhomes, I have come to one conclusion and one more question.....Evidently Forest River does not do a very good job including much in their owner's manual !! My question is...why not? It seems a lot of confusion and potential damage could be avoided with a better set of instructions from the manufacturer. Anyone else feel the same way?

I've seen once, while walking thru a cg, those rods placed between the slide out frame and the wall of a mh. I took a picture and posted it on the forum but can't find it now. It looked like they were used to keep the slide out or steady.
