mystery switch and electronic unit

My 2017 Forester 3051 has a small black momentary switch mounted under the steering column. I originally thought that it was the battery booster switch, but after researching that on this forum I discovered that switch mounted under the power driver's seat. That left me wondering what the black switch is for, so I went digging today and found that it goes to a black box that was simply stuffed behind the dash. That box has a small antenna coming out of it. The brand on the box is Pursuit, and the label on the back side says "Pass/1512". Does anybody have any idea what this is?

Pursuit makes remote car starters, check to see if wires go to ignition system. I think they make alarm systems also, but not sure on that.

Did some further checking, but I can't see where the wires actually go with a Ford wiring diagram. What I did find after pulling some more is that there is a relay connected to the unit. One of the wires from the relay to the unit has a fuse holder but no fuse. And all of this was just stuffed into the dash area. If it wasn't for the fact that I bought this new, I'd think that a PO hacked something into the system.

Voxx International makes Pursuit products. If there is nothing in the paperwork you received with your RV, maybe contact them to see what its purpose is. I'm curious to know as well.

I contacted LazyDays a little while ago. It turns out that they put "ignition interrupters" on all of their units. They leave the keys in them, but the RV won't start unless a salesperson with a remote is there.

They were supposed to remove it before delivery but didn't.

Ok, but is this one faulty since you were able to drive it home and I assume still able to start it.

Could it have been disabled by the missing fuse?

My guess is that the missing fuse is what allowed the unit to run. I sure don't want to mess around with it and end up with a dead RV. I'll be going back their way in December for some warranty work and they can take it out then.
