New #3051SF 3rd Water Leak

Just had my first heavy downpour in the RV. Water is leaking from the bottom of the wall cabinet above the couch. There was some water inside the cabinet near the bottom. But most of the water was leaking from the bottom outside seam at the front face of the cabinet. There was no water on the top inside shelve.

I was able to get on the roof between downpours. The plate that is suppose to seal the TV antenna cable where it enters the roof appeared to be the source. I used sealant tape to seal the area around the plate. There appeared to be an opening where the wire entered the base of the plate. This location is just above the inside cabinet right side wall.

That plate is designed specifically for that application. But I have seen that wire get moved and create a seal void. Good catch, glad it was something simple.

I remembered my RV dealer upgraded my roof antenna. So, the access plate was probably removed and then reinstalled. But they never resealed the plate the second time. It was obvious to me the plate had been tapered with after the factory sealing was completed. We are having rain showers now in Franklin, N.C. and nothing is showing signs of a leak. I am 99.9 percent sure it was the antenna wire plate. Lucky, I carried a roll of good putty tape just in case. That stuff works even when things are damp.

First thing I did to my roof was "re"dicor every seem on the roof. I also put a dab of dicor on every one of those roof rail screws. I know they're not supposed to, but they can and will weep over time. Also added geocel proflex (way superior to silicone) around top and sides of all windows, lights and anything else that didn't satisfy me. Factory says not necessary on windows, but agreed it was good cheap insurance. No such thing as sealing too good.

At least in Heaven, RVs will be perfect, and I won't have to keep fixing them.

I did apply lap seal to all the screws around the edge of the roof. But I forgot the dealer replaced my antenna with a more powerful model. They just didn't reseal the plate where the wire enters the roof. You could tell it had be removed and reinstalled.
