New Koni FSD Shocks

Just installed new Koni FSD shocks on my 2014 Ford Chassis Forester. My camper handled just fine since new but Wow, what a difference these shocks made. Only driven a few miles so far but really removed the harshness of the ride. It was an expensive upgrade but I wish I had done it sooner.

Also got it aligned today and new Michelin tires last month. Ready for the next trip. Leave Monday for the Florida panhandle.

BTW - For Cincinnati area FROGs I can recommend Bob Sumeral Tire. They have a truck facility off I-275/Mosteller Rd. Seem very knowledgeable and reasonably priced.

Happy Campin!

Your feedback on the Koni’s is what I hear from everybody who spent the $’s for em.

When you had your allignment done, what did they set the caster to?

Thanks. Looks like about 4* caster. I’m probably going to need to get mine done.

Good info; this is my last major modification badly needed on my 'to do' list. May I ask how much approx. is the labor to install them? Did you do front & rear? Thanks.

Koni FSD (Gold) are automatically adjusting shocks. So yes, they are adjustable, just not by the end user. The Koni Reds are user adjustable by turning the bottom when the shock is fully compressed.

That’s what I had. I set them once before I installed them and had no desire to change them. Absolutely fantastic shocks though. Tremendous ride improvement!

New Koni FSD Shocks

$246 to install at Bob Sumeral Tire here in Cincinnati. Wanted to install myself and looked easy enough, but ran out of time. (And maybe a little lazy [emoji2]).

Forgot to mention, replaced bushings on the front sway bar also. The bar slid back and forth in the mounts.

Thought about bigger sway bars and new steering stabilizer but decided didn’t really need them.

thanks! I bought the rear sway stabilizer for driving in strong winds frequently but it is still lousy not having the Koni's when I'm pulling in -out of parking lots & gas stations......

Nearly 750 miles today driving to Florida. Really like the new Koni shocks. Much more comfortable ride even pulling the toad.Click image for larger version

Did you do just the fronts or both front and rear?

Alan, what where the part numbers you used? If you go to the Koni site and plug in a 2016 Ford E450 it comes back with zero results.
