Overview of Swivel Seats on a Forester 3171 DS
Several of us have struggled with making the decision of whether or not to order swivel seats with this floorplan. I made a video to show how both swivel seats look on the 3171.
Enjoy and forgive my amateur abilities.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to post this video. I am sure it will answer a lot of peoples questions. We should be picking up our new 3011DS sometime after the 15th (finally).

Great job. That actually works nicely as an ottoman.

I want to add a passenger swivel to my camper. Where can I get it?

Brian said in this post from a couple of years ago that they are exclusive to FR. Don't know if that's still the case but a quick google search didn't return any results. http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ual-61793.html

They're made by Atwood.

Great video. I always thought the best idea would be to design a mechanism to rotate the seats 180 degrees then push them together and form a kind of love seat. Even the arm rests would be positioned correctly.

Thanks for this video. When you see the Driver/Pass seats rotated in a Class A it's a nice feature.
But once you see this feature implemented in the Forester Class C you see that it's not really all that usable.
Seems to be appropriate for Class A and not Class C. The seats would have to come UP at the same time they rotate - and they can't really do that due to the truck cab.

Sprinter set up is perfect for swivel seats and that is a Class C. Just need a little booster to set in there...which we're working on.

I installed a swivel base on the passenger seat of my 3010. No issues and we swivel it every time we park.

Where did you get your swivel base? I tried Atwood search but no luck. I have. 2451s so lots of room to swivel the passenger seat too.

I did have 1 issue. I did not lengthen the power cord for the air bag sensor in the seat. 1st time I swiveled the seat it snapped the wires. I still haven't fixed that yet

Mine doesnt go diagonal. I put the seat back all the way forward, then rotate it while I slide it back. Then I recline the seat back to what is comfortable.

Gilm yours is probably a different brand from what I bought. It has a lever on the left side that makes it rotate

My wife and I were fooling around with it today, trying to see how it worked before left the campground. I got it turned 90 degrees and couldn't get to move either direction. I was concerned it was going to be a real long day with her staring at me for the whole trip. Fortunately we got turned back facing forward!
