Possible New Forester Owner

Hi there, I currently own a Sunseeker 3120. The wife is very interested in upgrading to the 2016 Forester 3171. I have a couple of questions that Ihope could be answered. What does the DS or DSF stand for at the end of the model number? When did the 6 speed Ford transmission begin to ship? ALso, for a fully loaded 3171, what can Iexpect to pay/offer without having my pants pulled down? Thank you in advance for your responses.

The DSF stands for double slide Ford. They only come on Ford chassis as of now so DS and DSF is the same. The 6 speeds have been shipping since last August or earlier if I remember correctly. As for a good starting point on price go to RVWholesalers.com and you will get a price quote right online. If your looking to order a unit their prices are very good and many here including myself have ordered through them. If your looking to find one at a local dealer you may have a harder time getting close to RVW's price. I own a 2016 Forester GTS 2801QSF and am very pleased with fit, finish and options. Happy hunting!

Great guys at RVW. Most here have had a good experience with them. Go to dealer reviews here on forum and do a search. I was totally and still completely satisfied with their dealership and service.

Check out RV Direct.com. Everything is 20-40% off retail price. I saved 38% off the retail price on my Solera. I p/u 'ed from DesMoine, IA location and was happy with them.

So this is nuts - I took the RVW price back to the Dealer - Campingworld - and they matched it.......31% off the retail. Anyone bought from Campingworld and had warranty work done there?

I've heard good and bad from different camping world locations. I'm sure that's typical with any dealer. If your going to finance, RVW also gives large additional discount if you finance through them. Make sure you account for that if financing. In the end if your happy with a price and terms from a dealer that's what's important.
