Propane Furnace Stinks

First winter use of the propane furnace and got lots of stinky air. I expect that from a new unit. However, after at least 20 hours of use the smell is still there (but not as strong as original). On my previous RVs there was always a smell on first use after several months of non use but that smell was always gone very quickly.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of this problem?

What is the smell? Burning off oil film or other? Later RJD

Not any sort of petroleum or gas smell. Not wood. Same smell I get every year when I start my home heating system The home unit smell is always gone within a few hours.

Usually that smell would relate to some sort of dust. If you can get to grill and pull check for any debris in the unit. Later RJD

It could be that your heating ducts have debris in them soaking up moisture and when it heats up, that's what you're smelling.

I know ours were full of sawdust and other debris, so I took the registers off and used the small flexible hose on a shop vac to run in them and suck it out.
