Range Hood Light Bulb

I need to replace the light bulb in my range hood. I have not found much in the search and the burned out bulb is not readable. Some posts say it is a 921 but would like to replace it with an LED and found this one on Amazon for $5.49 for a pair.

It looks like they will work but was wondering if anybody has tried this or something similar

Those are the ones I got and they will work but don't expect them to be much brighter than what was already in there.

Thanks for the quick reply!! I just ordered them and they will arrive in two days. Will let you know how they work. It is amazing how quick the original burned out. In my old Terry I still had the original after 15 years.

I went with one like this since all the LEDs point down towards the stove. Really lights up the stove nice.

We had the same problem. The light bulb did not last more than 3 outings and we didn't even have it on that much. And it's so dim, it's like not having a light at all. And replacing it was not that much fun either. Forest River needs to look in to this. IMO.

Hi,
I replaced the range hood light on my 2016 26VFKS with something very similar to what you have. It is not quite as bright as the incandescent bulb, but uses less amperes. And really there is enough other lighting that I
I hardly use the rangehood light.

15 years ago bulbs were most likely made in USA, not a communist, third world country.

I went to the auto part store and bought the same bulb when mine went out, but I did buy those bulbs for all my little reading lights and also my two pendants over the island. They work great, the old bulbs kept getting black on me I guess from heat, those LED work great.... If I remember right it is a #921

Right Style

I put these in.

They are longer and brighter. I like the LEDs because they don't heat up the housing like the incandescent bulbs do.

When I was growing up light bulbs were replaced for free and they seemed to last forever. You took a bag of burned out ones to your local power company office and brought a bag of new ones home.

Then some drug store owner in the metro Deroit area filed a restraint of trade lawsuit because he couldn't make any money selling light bulbs and won his case. from then on you paid for light bulbs that didn't last half as long.

This was the beginning of the end for the creation of quality products.

This is what I replaced my range hood light with.

Pancake style points all the light down, 3200K matches original light bulbs color.

Ace, mine was definitely burned out. Will see how the ones worked out that I ordered before all the responses and if I am not happy will try one of the others. Thanks for all the replys, I will let you know how it works out.

I replaced every light in the trailer including the outside light with LEDs. The range hood can take the same bulb as all the other bulbs and it looks like the picture from Amazon. I ordered all of my bulbs from www.superbrightleds.com and have never had an issue with a bulb. I placed white LEDs in the kitchen and bathroom but the warm white LEDs over the dinette and in the bedroom. Regular bulbs draw way too much power and put way too much added heat into the trailer. For us it was money well spent.

I did what you are doing, replaced the range hood bulb with an LED. My incandescent bulb was fine, but my goal was to reduce as much battery amp draw as possible. The replacement LED's light is somewhat "bluer" and less illuminating, but it has become a favorite night light that gets turned on for the last few hours of evening relaxing. It turns out that the hood light isn't the one I reach for if I happen to be doing any late night stove work anyway.
Even though my 2015 trailer claimed all the lights were now LED, I found several that were not. The range hood, inside the fridge, and all the outside lights, for example. A little research on Ebay resolved all those oversights. The power draw between incandescent & LED is quite measurable. My concern over battery draw is really only important if one "boondocks" regularly.

I used this style throughout my TT (different Amazon vendor, but probably from the same Chinese factory) to change out the original hot burning incandescents. . .

Great improvement - BRIGHT light and no overheating fixtures. The down directed LED's did deliver more light...However, two of ten bulbs burned out within the first month of (continuous) camping.

Pleased with the results, but there may be quality issues.

When I swapped out my bulb with a standard bulb every replacement popped within 3 stove top uses. Have the LEDs been holding up for the folks that swapped to them?

First, sorry for the late post. I got the bulbs yesterday and installed one of them in the evening. As others have said, it is not super bright but is definitely better than the stock incandescent it replaced. So far I happy with the results.

As of now all the bulbs are LED except for the scare light on the drivers side.
