Re-wire Winegard plate for Satellite to Bedroom TV
My 2016 Forester's bedroom TV only has OTA reception and internal DVD player. I would like to disable the OTA and place a splitter in-line after the Dish Satellite receiver so that the bedroom TV can get the same channel as the upfront main cabover TV. Below is a photo of the 2 plates by the up front TV and a diagram of the amplifier panel. I thought maybe disconnecting the Set 2 cable and attaching a coupler and cable going to a splitter off the cable running from the Dish receiver to the upfront main TV. Then I could I add another splitter just before the Set 2 cable in the diagram with one going to the switch panel and the other going to the splitter off the back of the Sat receiver thus giving me both OTA and SDat reception? Will this work and has anyone done this mod?
Just a note, tthe black cable on the amp white plate is the cable coming off the roof satellite and goes to the sat receiver.

Just realized that it would be going from HDMI from sat receiver to coax,, is there an adapter?

Thanks, I was able to follow the coax in the bedroom down the wall and could see it when I removed the hatch in the shower below the knobs. traced it down under the shower pan to the wall and along the back side of the toilet to under the sink, closet drawer and under the fridge. Will try some more tomorrow. Mine probably runs from under the fridge up the side and passing into the compartment cut-out for the convenience panel with a thousand wire. Then it's going to get tricky the last 7 feet with the dinette slide out in the way and into a post above just in back of the driver's seat along the cabover bunk wall. Rough easurement was 30-35feet, so I will order 50feet of HDMI and a splitter.

I have a different model and needed to use a short piece of wire mold on the ceiling to get across the door way. Looked at your floor plan can you drop it into the outside compartment under the side. The coax may also be under your dinette seating area with extra wiring to allow for the slide out to move. Enjoy the project

Thanks for the info. Can't be any harder than routing the solar cable down the fridge vent into the void alongside the fridge and under the fridge, cabinets, same raised flooring. Just a lot of time on my belly. I'm going to post photos of the possible route later today for suggestions. I could run it under the dinette as you mentioned then just attach it to the wall just behind the driver's seat as no one will see it because of the slide . Ordered 40 feet of HDMI and a triple splitter and should arrive tomorrow Amazon Prime.

Here's photos of the possible route. So again, down the wall and under the shower pan. Then along back of toilet to under vanity sink and closet/cabinets and refrigerator. Then I have options of going up the side of the fridge and come out thru wall at height of top of dinette slide and running it along the top of the seals to the post holding all the TV wiring. Or, I could come out of the wall at floor level in the back and run it under the slide-out going up the wall to the TV post. Any thoughts? I'm thinking going along top of slide-out rather than under it.

I ran a string down the wall and under the shower pan. Couldn't get past the back of the toilet. Tried from both sides. Was able to remove the shower J trap cover and had good access under the shower, but there was only a slit next to the wall for a 110 romex to go thru. I tried that but again couldn't get past the back of the toilet. May have to drill a 3" hole and see what the issue is. I placed a flash light under the shower pan at the slit opening and could barely make out the light from under the sink vanity. I removed the bottom of the vanity for access but it's a real tangled mess of wires and pipes as the vent is also there in the wall.

What model do you have. Maybe I can help Before you drill a big hole. I hate to say this but you maybe able to drill through the floor and come in it that way. Did you get the drawings? Oh I have dish network my receiver has a RF out that’s what I used to go to the back bedroom, don’t need HD when you go to bed. That u on the cable in the first picture you sent , you can take it loose and plug the RF out of the receiver into one side and send that to the back bedroom.
Take the cover off of the u and you will have a gray cable that goes to the over the air ant. And the other goes to the amp. You can take the cable that comes off the receiver RF and screw it into connector That goes to the amp and turn the amp off an put your tv on 4 or 3 and watch tv

The black cable you said goes to you outside ant. On mine it goes to my tv. The u has the outside ant that goes the ant in on the amp. Look at that and see if that’s how yours is hooked up. It’s hard to try an explanation makes sense . Typing . I’m in North Carolina I can give you my email address and send me yours and I can give you my home number and I will be more then happy to help you. Jritchie3@carolina.rr.com

Thanks Joel Ritchie, The DW is about to go on a trip and today was the last day I can work on this. I had hoped to have a string laid out so I could quickly pull the HDMI cable thru tomorrow, but that's not going to happen. Putting this on hold til late next week. Will let you know then if I need your help. Thanks again.

Got up early and ran out and tracked down mailman who had my Amazon order of HDMI. I tested the HDMI cable connection to make sure the cable worked and wasn't one of those single direction ones. Bedroom TV has satellite picture.
I tried pulling the cable thru from wall, shower pan but got hung up in back of the toilet again. This time I pried of the fake maple wood cover and found the problem. Routed the cable thru the opening and pulled it thru to under the fridge. Ran it up to the Dish receiver and it works! Put everything back together and nailed back the back of toilet cover, trim pieces and the bottom shelf in the vanity. Only took a couple of hours. Rest is easy routing either under the slide or over it. Gotta run, DW leaving on a trip and taking her shopping. Much easier to travel in MH!

Got up early again and took some photos. First is opening under fridge where cable is coming out . Going to drill a hole next to the wall for the cable to pass thru. Next is a photo of the top of the slide out where I could run the cable. Last is a phot of the bedroom wall with all the wires hanging out. I ordered a HDMI wall receptacle which will arrive tomorrow to give it a finished look instead of drilling out a section next to the existing power receptacle for the HDMI.

Can you tell me what model your RV is. I have a 3011DS. Now I went out side on the passenger side and back were my water filter is and took the covers off everything back there to get a 120 volt cord up to my kitchen. When you take the covers off you can see over to were the sewer is and that below the cabinet we’re your tv is. Now I can’t tell you what you can do until I know the model your RV is. Get me that and I can tell you what you can see. This is my RV.
