I just received a recall to reprogram the transmission on the 2014 chevy chassis on my 2015 Forester. Anyone get this recall?

I got it for my 2012 Chevy. Haven't taken it in yet.

I made an appt. to bring it in to a local chevy dealler on the 19th, takes less than an hour. I haven't been towing but I may in the future.

Must be on the 3500 chassis because no recall on the 2012 4500 chassis.

Wrong, mine is a 2015 Forester on a 4500 chassis and the recall is to reprogram the transmission to prevent torque coverter clutch friction material wear while towing.

Well, lucky you but I would go into a Chevy dealer anyway and have them check it on their computor because some one else with a 2012 had the recall but hadn't answered it yet. I got my letter last week and have an appt. for the 19th.

What is the recall number on your letter and does it say what models are affected? Just checked the NHTSA site again and yours is not listed either. I am in Florida for the winter and mail is not catching up very quick.

There is no # on my letter, but on the copy of the vehicle report I recieved from the chevy dealer when I went there for an appt. it states.
14730 Torque converter clutch wear. I only have 1300 miles on my rv and only did one trip to Ft Wilderness so far and I don't intend to tow in the near future but you never say never so I figured I'd take care of it before my next trip in 2 wks. It's not a safety issue so I doubt if it would be at the NH

NHTSA lists recalls, service bulletins etc. they have nothing listed whatsoever on this subject. Not on the Forest River RV or Chevy Express 4500. I am going to send an email with my VIN back to my buddy at my dealer in OH and see what he says.

Does your notice have a recall #? Or what is the verbage on yours? I contacted my dealer but sure I will hear nothing until Monday.

No number that I can read (has a bar code on letter). It says if you have concerns to contact your dealer or the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center at 800.222.1020.

It is to reprogram the Transmission Control Module, because it may have a condition in which high duty cycle use while pulling trailers can exceed the target energy input to the clutch. This may lead to faster torque converter clutch friction material wear than expected.

It does not appear to be a safety recall, so may not get posted to NHTSA list of recalls.
