Refrigerator work better with computer fans

I had heard of folks using those PC fans to help their fridges work better. Bought one a while back and finally put it in. I am now a believer !

These are computer that you clip to the fins of your fridge. They help push the cold air through the fridge. Google them, about 10-15 bucks well worth the Money

Drake- being that you are in a high heat environment like myself, might want to install some cooling fans in the back of the fridge also. Put one on the lower fridge access door sucking air onto the condensing pipes and a larger at the top by the heat exhaust pushing the hot exchanged air out the stack. These are the ones I just got:

ARCTIC F12 - 120 mm Standard Low Noise Case Fan https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002KTVFTE..._3ReKvb8QAPGV6

ARCTIC F14 - 140 mm Standard Low Noise Case Fan https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008DM6NJE..._tSeKvb87YFK6W

Put the smaller one below and larger one in the exhaust stack. I wouldn't go too high on air flow with other fans as you may blow out your propane light down low or the ones that have higher flow also spin faster which may allow you to hear the fan inside your TT. I just direct wired mine to the 12v supply going to the fridge as there will be very few times my fridge will not be on. And they turn off of course when I use battery disconnect.

Any photos of the install? That would be great !!!

Sure- if you all can hang on until tomorrow. I have the lower installed and the upper is a work in progress as it is 112 here this weekend and didn't want to pull unit out of storage or take ladder to storage lot.

I will most likely install the upper exhaust one on Thursday as I will pull out of storage, throw food in fridge and pull it to our weekend spot.

Made an alum bracket holding the two fans and screwed the bracket to the back of the frig. Power comes from the panel to the left of the fans. Can't get much closer shot, it even shows the bolts and nuts holding the fans to the bracket.

Fridge Fans

I removed the noisy 80mm fan and replaced it with two 120mm fans using the same wiring. Can't even hear them run and a big difference in cooling. Mounted both fans midway up the backside of the fridge through the top exhaust vent. Hard to get to, but well worth the effort.

The airflow is partially blocked by the condenser tank but didn't want to put it close to the propane burner and have it blow it out. Not a lot of room on my unit to mount horizontally. I will leave that for the larger fan in the exhaust.

I put a small 120v fan (blowing upwards) in the outside compartment of our 390RB. Camping World sells battery-powered fans (two "D" cells) for about $10 (more or less) and we've put one on the top and one on the bottom shelves. Our Dometic 4-door cools to 33 degrees when overnight and keeps to around 40 when we're in and out of it.

I temporarily had to unhook the light for the fridge. When to door closed, it would kill power, next trip I a going to see if I can do something a little more permanent.

The fans have an aligator clip which connects the fan to the fins as well as doubles as the ground
