Relay satellite system

Does anyone have a Relay Dish satellite TV system that was factory installed in the 3051 motorhome? We have had ours to CW for repair because the signal to the tv is so bad--no resolution and now we are caught in the middle between it being a cable problem and a receiver problem. We have asked that the receiver be replaced 3 times, which Dish did, and the dealer is still insisting that it is the receiver, however, the receiver works fine on our home system. Dish is saying that the cables in the motorhome need to be replaced. We just purchased the 3015 3051 in June and the system has never worked.
Thanks for any suggestions or info as to what we should do.

Hook everything up by running external cables between components and see if the TV works properly. If the TV, receiver and antennae work with external cabling then its something with the cables or connectors in the coach. Could be hard to find.

Yeah lol I find it funny that cg blames the receiver after 3 replacements!

if it works in your home its perfectly clear to me it's the cabling in the mh.

Do as suggested above by hooking it around the mh cabling and show cw how much nonsense they've put you through!

We need more info to diagnose the issue. Are you running HDMI from the receiver to the TV? Or are you running coax. Coax is notoriously inadequate for the new high def signal.

Park cable/Coax should run directly to the receiver. Then you should feed the main TV directly from receiver via HDMI. Now any other TV's would have to be fed via coax...but those are typically smaller.

The issue is DirecTV is still SD mobile. Dish is HD mobile...there is not way for an RV mfg to account for every possible hook up that can exist (TV/Receiver). Well there is a way, but then everyone pays for it on every unit whether you need it or not.

You must also make sure the antenna booster is OFF.

The relay system installed at the factory comes from the roof directly to the receiver. Then you would feed the main TV with HDMI (if you choose to have high def) but from the factory it would be component cables.

Here's what do as fulltimers and feedup with horrible cable to no cable from parks and 5-7$ daily fee for 4 channels. Got 2 tailgater dishes and 2 recievers from dish. Disconnected coax from back of tvs run coax out windows from reciever to sat. dishes then HDMI. from reciever to tvs. Use foam pipe insulation to seal small opening at windows. When we move unhook sat. dishes rollup coax close windows and off to the next adventure. The only thing i lose because bypassing switching station is DVD from the Magellen indash player.

You should still be able to get DVD to the TV. That is a separate input. That should be a red/white/yellow input, while your receiver is HDMI in most cases.

Thanks for all the replies. This is a system that was totally installed at the factory, including the receiver. Everything is connected via coax and because it is installed in the walls we have no way of knowing exactly where the cables run. It has become a major issue because we have had to pay for the replacement receiver from Dish and it doesn't work any better than the first one did.
It does work to use a HDMI cable to the main TV but that doesn't get the signal to the BR or external TV
Very disappointed that FR is not standing behind their warrantees saying they can't do anything.

The brochure only calls out for a single receiver. Any home application each TV has its own receiver. If your dealer said otherwise, then that is on them.

Every TV will receive picture perfect "Over the air" signal.
Every TV in that set up should have its own DVD player

Your options are to dedicate a receiver to each TV OR if there are multiple outputs on the receiver then feed those directly to each TV, but you can only watch one thing at a time. Unless you get a dual tuner and that typically requires a different type of satellite.

This is one of the reasons we will probably drop all Sat options and just pre-wire. There are way too many options available and too many assumptions made about what is being installed.

As a side note...coax does not do a very good job with high def signal. I also believe this is why Dish's new 211 receiver has dropped the Coax out connection.

Thanks. I would have expected the main TV to at least have a good picture from a factory installed system. This was sold as "Automatic HD Satellite system with Dish receiver" Guess they didn't really say that it was going to work with the TV .

We love the RV and will try some more troubleshooting next spring when we can get back on the road.

I appreciate the suggestions and comments.
