This is how we handle wind and snow on our trip

All packed and ready to head up to Yosemite. high gusty winds 45+ mph and forecasting snow Wednesday and Thursday when we leave for home we changed plans. This is how we handled it! In the 80's with slight breeze. Trading snow shoes for fishing rod.
Still hope to hookup Sat dish and receiver tonight for first use.

Rincon Parkway, Ventura. CA. $29 a day with a dog? Just a parking spot along the beach 35-40 feet long. Nothing but a trash dumpster every 15 spaces with cars and trucks whizzing by 10 feet away. There are hookup CGs at each end of the 1.5 miles stretch, but no view of the surf and packed in. Oh almost forgot the Amtrack just the other side of the highway. After a day or so you don't even noticed them.
Heading home now before the rain comes in.

We're heading there Friday morning for the weekend. Sorry we missed you. Maybe we will see you some time up there.
Best view around.

Lots of spaces as it's starting to rain, decided to have lunch before heading home.

New X1 sat did well Setup quickly and watched 2 hours last night with about 14 amps total draw with extra lights on for security. Placed Sat on small outdoor side table and ran heavy bike cable from Sat security loop to entry door hand rail. Turned on awning lights too. Had window shade open to keep an eye on it.
Easily stored over night on passenger floor. Stowed for travel under dinette seat. Only operational setup hustle was inverter as I need to permanently wire it and have it easily accessible for sat receiver power cord.

I place mine on the roof, not mounted. That way if trees in the way can put anyplace on roof to hit SATs. Plus I bungie it so wind won't move it and is secure.

I thought of that option, but the DW doesn't want me on the roof anytime. Especially trying to climb the ladder and have one hand carrying the dish
But, I do sneak up there when she's gone on occassion!

I have to wait 30 days now before going back to Rincon because of their rules. Weren't you just there? Must be hard to find a spot on a Friday or do you know something I don't?
Do you surf fish?

Haven't been to Rincon with new RV yet. We went to the Ventura RV park at the end of Main St 2 times. I leave at 5am and can always find a site with a little wait sometimes. Not sure how they enforce the 30 day rule there.
No surf fishing but may take it up when retired.

Wiring my 400 watt inverter today

Wired the 400 watt inverter for use with the Dish ViP211z receiver. According to my figures, it should only draw 4.5 ahr. So rather than drill a hole in the floor to the batteries, I opted to just attach it to wiring going to the outdoor entertainment center. At least for the time being. It's under the sofa and has Anderson quick-connects in line and a 7.5 amp fuse. There's easy access to the connectors and the inverter by removing the arm rest. Since we don't watch that much TV or Sat on the road, I'm leaving it unconnected.
This project is DONE! Now to enjoy and

Smile Sat and cable connections

Creativepart....thank you, thank you. I bought a new (2014) 3051S with 3 TV's and the sales team, technicians, etc., all said only the MAIN TV was wired for satellite. I've been scratching my head for some time now and always knew i could add a 'switch' box, run cables, etc., but it just didn't make sense to me.

Anyway, after reading this thread and the details you provided (which were very clear) i was able to get the satellite working for all 3 TV's from one (1) satellite box. I now only have a minor issue. The EXTERNAL TV only appears to have picked up some sort of interference (slight waviness in the picture). Again, only on the external TV and only on satellite. ANY IDEAS.

Otherwise thoroughly happy with our MH and certainly this forum.

Happy Camper

We have the same issue. Like you it only on the SAT and only the outside TV. I think it's because the RF signal that is sent to the bedroom and outside is split between the two TVs. But I don't know.

If the Living Room TV is on then the bedroom TV's picture is full of noise, too. But if you turn off the Living Room TV then it clears up.

I don't know but it seems the outdoor TV problem is related somehow.

I want to try a few solutions, but I watch the outdoor TV so little that I haven't taken the time to try a few things yet.

HDMI to O/D TV and bedroom

Creativepart, I thought I would just plug in a 10 foot HDMI cable from the outdoor TV and run it thru the opening where the O/D radio wiring enters the coach and under the sofa. Then follow the receiver power cord from the inverter, also under the sofa, back up to the receiver. I can switch HDMI cables from cab-over TV to outdoor TV. Yes, it's near impossible to run HDMI to the bedroom TV, but I'm thinking about it! Maybe wireless is the only option.

I've heard of "HDMI over Coax" devices that let you get HDMI quality signal via long runs of RG cable. But have not done the research into this option yet.

The bedroom TV picture is acceptable to me and I use the outside TV so little it hasn't been a priority.
