ScanGaugeII

How many people here are using a ScanGaugeII (or equivalent), how do you like it, and can you post pictures of how it is mounted? Here is a picture I found on another forum of one mounted in the dash opening next to the coin holder in a Ford E-450. Looks like a perfect fit.

I love mine, using on 2014 E450 chassis. Set to MPG, water temp and trans temp. I just mounted on top of dash with double sided tape, easy to move to any other vehicle.

X2, although I've not been able to get an accurate MPG reading on my Ecoboost. Great for monitoring 4 key functions at the same time. I monitor Boost, Coolant Temp, Trans Oil Temp, and Volts.

Used Velcro to attach mine up on the dash. Pretty cool mod but don't expect to get the rebate they promise. Click image for larger version

I have the ScanGauge2 with velcro attached to the dash right under the coin holder. Does look like a perfect fit in the photo. How does the dash insert pull out and is it an easy route down thru the dash to the OBD? Questions we answers too!
I currently have my display set for monitoring
volts
MPG
Trans temp
water temp

Looks like we need dash removal tools, $18 at Autozone.

Checked mine today. Close but SG2 is 1/4" too long and a bit too high. Would need to trim opening. Leaving mine alone.
I'm happy with it. Especially like the transmission and actual coolant temperature along with MPG current and actual.
Would have liked to insert it in space next to coins but can live with this.

I use the Bully Dog GT Tuner [diesel] which monitors all intel coming out of the OBD and is much small than the other monitors plus adds a tune to the motor if you want it.

Sage...the dash piece comes out pretty easy - pulling it out from the top first. It takes about 20 minutes to trim away at the opening to fit the scan gauge in. The top and sides get cut away.
Here is the link to install; http://www.irv2.com/forums/f23/scang...ll-191151.html

We like ours too; mostly monitor mpg and hp. We mounted it between bottom of dash and top of engine cover with velpro strips

If I do it, I'd like to buy an extra dash storage/coin holder and cut that up first. Went online and found Ford part 13546 that fills to opening, but these have switches for lights and brake controller. They were cheap, like $18+ so the plain one, if I can find it would be $10-$15 maybe. Worth a try for that little cost. Will check with my huge Ford dealer tomorrow.

.Mounted mine with the mount bracket . It just fits top and bottom of cubby. I cut and removed about 3/8 " from top and bottom of tape backing and put it on the left edge of the cubby where it is easy to reach the menu button. It always reads 1mpg high on MPG. I monitor instantaneous mpg, mpg, ambient temp, % engine load and mph.

The little number are instantaneous gallons/hr, Distance to empty Miles, tank level in gallons and time to empty.

I have found to to be pretty accurate on gas mileage. The scan gauge is completely flexible with about 50 different items your can display on 7 different pages.

I'm a geek and love it.

I bought a Scan gauge 11 but found that It would not hold on the page I wanted to monitor and after a short time it would return to home page and not give me any info. I would have to keep scrolling through 3 or 4 layers of menus to get a 15sec or so view then back to home page.
Bought the Ultra gauge and am as happy as a clam at high tide as it will hold page and you pick which parameters to view in what order and delete pages not needed. then manually scan custom pages with one button. Have the option of auto scroll with custom timing on page delay for auto scroll . .

I put ours atop the mirror.

The cable wasn't long enough so I bought an RJ 45 coupler and used a short piece of Cat 5 network cable to extend it.

The cable tucked easily into the headliner and the A-pillar trim piece came off easily so the cable and coupler could be placed inside. It was no problem to route the cable along the bottom of the dash to plug into the OBDII port.
