Shower Faucet Replacement

I want to replace the shower faucet on my 2012 3011 DS. Has anyone replaced their factory shower faucet with a better quality unit and if so, how did you access the back? There's a screwable escutcheon below the faucet but there's no way to get your hand up to the back.

I've already upgraded the kitchen and bath faucets to brushed nickel and what a change

My faucet is accessed through an access panel in the back of a shallow cabinet on an interior wall.

yup, thats your shower valve access point. Mine (Sunseeker 2650s)was on the bedroom wall back of the shower wall. Was a tight fit to into mine but supply nuts and valve nuts were just hand tight no tools needed

Today I needed access to my shower connections (I had a previous leak problem). I'm sorry that the picture I have is not showing the proper view. The top is the left side, the bottom is where you see the round shower screw on plate. Tilt your head to the left to see it correctly.

I cut a 10" x 10" hole with a box cutter. the plywood is very thin and it was easy to cut a perfect square. I am making a very thin picture frame around the cut out piece and will screw it back in the hole. It will look like a professional access panel when I'm done.

You can see that the plumbing fittings are the same as house fittings and they screw on from the bottom. your new shower faucet will need the same set up.

I HOPE THIS HELPS

Would you mind posting a picture of the thin picture frame cover panel? I need to do the same thing in my 2017 3011 DS. Thanks so much for your help.
