Unhappy Slide drive and driven gear issue

Question for bclemens? On the top driven gear of wall slide the last two teeth have been ground in half by the drive motor gear, would this cause the slide to open up on its own while driveing down the road. I still can't work out how to post pics yet or i would show you what I mean HAHA! Best way to discribe is if you look at the gear think of it beening cut top to bottom in half. Its only on the top long gear which is attached to slide.Any help would be great thanks

I don't think it would let the slide move out on its own. There is still the other side of the slide and the bottom track. When you say "gear" I assume you mean the machined "worm-rail" (that is the aluminum track that sits top and bottom of both sides).

To post a picture, to the right of the "Post Quick reply" hit "Go Advanced" instead. That will give you options to upload a picture.

will post pic and I do mean the worm rail. The slide came out about a half inch only on the end of the wrecked rail while driving on some rough roads.

bclemens just a follow up on slide gear issue, dealer called today and said they will replace slide gear under warranty. Also they want to look at what may have caused this problem.
