Slide wiper seal rip

I was wondering why we had such a huge gap when the galley slide was pulled out. You can see all the way into the living area and a good sized animal could get in! We found out there's a rip in the wiper seal and needs to be replaced. Anyone have a problem with their slide seals? If so, what was the best fix? I just don't want to order something and have it fixed only to have it do this again. Apparently a new rubber seal needs to be ordered and dealer will charge 1/2 labor @ $70. Photos are of the underside of the galley slide where you can see the gap and rubber wiper seal not positioned properly.

Sorry if these photos posted upside down. I've been having trouble with photos posting properly.

Slide wiper seal rip

We had ours rip on one of our slides but only because the slide was out of adjustment. Fixed at the dealer and new seal put in all under warranty. All is good now.

Thanks! I wish this was covered under warranty.

Does everything seal tightly when the slide is opened then? I don't care for the fact that even if the wiper is up against the slide, it still can be pushed in very easily.

As far as we can tell, they work fairly well. Ours has 2 wipers per each side of the slide . See if yours does .

I'm using a dry Teflon lube on my slide gear tracks and a seal conditioner on the seals plus waxing the exterior of the slide wall where it contacts the seal.

My unit is new but whenever I moved the slide in out out the seals would be slightly stuck, then stretch until they popped free. Doing the above has fixed that and quieted the squealing friction noises that came with it.
