Spare tire 3051S?

Would like to know where the spare tire is mounted on a FR 3050/3051S ? Is it under the back of the chassis and if so has anyone moved it and mounted it on the back bumper? Looking to buy a new 3051S and am thinking of all possibilities.

It's underneath in rear of coach

As Boso said its under the rear of MH mounted between the frame rails , Why would you want to mount in on the rear bumper? Just asking.

Some folks have bumper mounted it. I asked this question a while ago. It's way under there and even has a safety chain on it. Plus, it weighs a ton and not something that drops on a winder like on a car or truck. If you try to drop it it would be too heavy to hold.

I think they put them there because of some DOT rules. Moving to the bumper is the only way to go if you ever planned to use it. But its not like you can change your own tire on these anyway.

Catch-22 if you ask me.

Why not???? I carry a 12ton hyd jack and lug nut wrench and have used it!

Not much difference that changing the tire on fifth wheel tires on mine were about the same size but rims were aluminum and 6 lug I would change if I was stuck on the side of the road I carry a jack and lug wrench also 6"x6" blocks of wood just for changing tire same kit I had for fifth wheel

Go ahead and change your tire out on the road. I'm going to call Coachnet and use my free year of roadside service that came with the coach. You'll find me inside, with the generator running, a video on the TV with a glass of wine in my hand waiting for the service guy to show up.

While we are on the subject of changing tires, has anyone ever used the Bigfoot levelers to lift the tires off the ground for tire changing? This may not be recommended but in a specific set of circumstances, is it even possible?

Yes the bigfoot levelers will lift tires off of ground and I would have no problem doing that on the front but remember you need to lift in pairs to avoid twisting frame to much and when you lift the rear off the ground you have no parking brake

Gotta agree with Creativepart about waiting for Coachnet or Ford roadside assistance especially on a cold rainy nite on the freeway. I am moving my spare indoors to the rear storage though to make it a little easier to get at and free up space underneatth for the fence post slinky mod

I posted this once before, but I'll repost the pics.
On our Lexi I replaced the lightweight class 3 hitch with a class 5 heavy duty hitch, not for the extra towing capacity, but for the strength.
Bought the Roadmaster heavy duty dual 2" receiver. Bought a Curt Spare Tire Mount for 2" receivers.
Here's what everything looks like. Its rock solid, super strong, and easy to access the spare (which I'll change myself), and still allows me to tow our Subaru.

Since I don't have free coachnet anymore, I will have the tire changed, back on the road then at the CC doing some serious drinking while you are waiting for coachnet to show up
