Thanks HopHed! Good info... None of my TVs have HDMI ARC.

Here is the manual for future reference.
See page 7 and 8 for HDMI ARC functions.

I've been educating myself on HDMI-ARC this morning and running in/out of the motorhome in the driveway to try things out. I'd prefer to use the HDMI-ARC feature instead of running another audio cable.

I found the HDMI cable between the Jensen JWM6A and the Furrion FEHT32N8A TV was plugged into HDMI2 on the TV. I moved it to HDMI3 since that's the only one marked HDMI-ARC. Still no sound.

I checked the TV's audio settings & the Setup/CEC/Audio Receiver(ARC) is set to ON. The Device List shows that the TV is connected to the Jensen.

I appreciate the suggestions and hopefully I can figure out which setting I have screwed up.

I forgot to mention that the TV's remote changes the volume on the Jensen (the "VOL" number on the Jensen's display increases or decreases) and when I hit Power on the TV's remote, both the TV and the Jensen turn off.

So I'm pretty sure the two devices are talking to each other. Just need to find the setting to turn on the darn ceiling speakers.

FIXED! The 2 HDMI cables going into the tv had to be reversed - now I can hear the tv out from the surround sound!

THAT WAS IT!!! Thank you!!!!!!!

Hophed,

Thanks a ton!!!

I put the cables back in their two original HDMI ports (port 1 and 2). I then swapped 1 & 2, instant sound.

I'm a bit confused on why it didn't work with port 3, which is the only one marked HDMI ARC, but I no longer care since the ceiling speakers are working!!!

Glad to see all is working now for at least a couple of you. This issue came up about a year ago about the factory not putting the HDMI cable into the correct port. Swapping the cables is certainly easier than running audio cables to the head unit.

Thanks for the good tips. I finally got my tv to work with the surround sound speakers. The two hdmi cables were backwards. Forest River should require the cables to be numbered and develop a procedure for the builders to follow. Too many little things are wrong when they ship them out. I suppose the dealer should also check everything upon delivery. Lastly the buyer should check everything. I know I did not force a more thorough demonstration of all the systems because I was pressed for time. I had an 1100 mile drive home.
