Suburban Furnace

How long should it take for the "new smell" of the suburban furnace to burn off?

My flagstaff took several uses.
My sabre never really had a "furnace" smell.

Ours pretty much stopped after the 3rd or 4th use. It set off the smoke detector the first 3-times.

Our last unit took several uses and after not being used for the summer it would have an odor the first time it kicked on.

This new unit didn't have much of an odor the very first time I fired it off.
