Ok, I know there is winterized procedures but living in Arizona the RV heats up with all the shades closed. I did find sun shield vent insulator for the smaller fan vents. 11 by 11. What other things are you guys doing for the bigger ceiling moon roof type. The pull covers do not hold out light or heat. Also, any ideas for the rear window? I am planning on a block out shade with Velcro if it holds.

I'll have to go see if it is in stock. Have you tried it? Looks promising for the rear window but what about the bathroom sun/moon roof? That lets in major heat and light.

I used black out ez for the entire bedroom, bathroom vent and shower skylight. Comes with very strong Velcro, and the material is very sturdy and has little numbers on it to cut easily. I would have preferred the blackout shades, but the price made me try something different.

First of all, we got all our windows tinted. Then we purchased a sunblock shade for the windshield and reflective pillows for the vents. Then I picked up a roll of two-sided foil insulation (about 1/4" thick) and am in the process of cutting pieces to fit the inside of the windows. Will fit between the window and inside shade. I also insulated the a/c.

Never thought about that, how did you insulate the A/C?

I removed the cowling and cut pieces of the double-foil insulation to fit the metal doghouse. On the advice of the HVAC guy, I used sticky-back pushpins and then sprayed contact glue onto the doghouse and attached the insulation to it. Last, I snipped off the tip of the pin before replacing the cowling.

Hopefully this picture loads. It shows the cap, pushpin (with sticky back), and piece of insulation. Make sure to clean the metal surface doghouse where you want the pushpin. They don't come off.

Have you finished the job? Not much room for insulation. Did it fit ok? Got a pic of the finished job?

We're currently on the road headed to Colorado and giving all the insulation a good test in Kansas. It definitely is making a difference. The a/c improved and is actually cycling normally on the auto mode. We didn't have to use an additional fan to cool down either. Tomorrow will be an even better test in 90+ temps. Will keep you posted.

Wish I could download a pic, but connection is poor at best while on the road. Temp is currently 93 degrees and our interior is 81. We are right directly in the sun.
