Sunseeker 3010ds arctic package?

I am looking at a 2013 Sunseeker 3010ds. (I have a 2900 now) Questions about the "arctic package". My salesman said we don't need it cause the tanks are not exposed, but i still see it as an option. I don't do much cold weather camping, so it is not that big of a deal. I really want to know if this guy is full of beans or not. My wife is trying to get this option "thrown in" to our deal. This is my second rig, so I'm not a newcomer. Anyone w/ experience w/ this, or a FR rep that has an opinion would be appreiciated. As usual, thanks in advance for any responses.

I have them on our Sunseeker. Mine is older then yours and the bottoms of the tanks are exposed. We do camp in below freezing temps a few times a year so I would not go without them. I think even if my tanks were enclosed I would still have the heaters on the tanks. We use electric heat so the furnace is not always running to keep a basement warm.

We used to have this option as Motocross says when the tanks were exposed.

Now, we enclose the tanks and use furnace air to heat that space. You don't really need them unless you're driving through some cold areas and don't want to run the furnace.

Even then we put the convertor in that cavity (instead of under the bed) which generates heat as well. That was an added bonus...we really did it because people complained of the fan noise on the convertor.

wait a second - is that fan the noise I hear when I plug in? Every time I've plugged in recently I can hear something "come on", and I can totally now see that it would be a fan. At the time it was just a whirring.

Could be. On a 2009 the converter would be mounted right behind the fuse panel.

My converter is under the bed in the 2013 model, and you here the fan any time a few 12v items are running. Not really that irritating, but it is noticed. I'm guessing all the 3121's have them mounted under the bed? I guess if it ever gets irritating, I'll relocate it somewhere else.

yes, some floor plans (3121 being one) we don't have a spot to easily remote mount it. Or they haven't got to that one yet.

Thanks for the clarification. No biggy as it doesn't really bother us. At least everything is easy to get to and work on if need be. That I do like.
