Super slide seals lube

Haven’t found it searching so wanted to check with all the experts.

3051s with the full wall slide and topper.

Step ladder makes for easy lube of all the slide seals and when it is in can get all the internal seals / flaps / etc.

So, how is everyone lubing the top seal under the topper?

Thought about an extendable pole and rag sprayed with the lube but figured there may be a better way.

So how is everyone doing that?

Thanks in advance.

I believe I saw a video showing an applicator on a long painters extension pole to reach the top seal, or I may have dreamed it.
Haven't lubed my top seal yet.

Thanks. Wasn’t sure if anyone had unhooked the slide topper to do it. I believe those have springs etc so may not be good to try that way.

Pretty simple, stable ladder, extendable pole and a swiffer pad. The swiffer pad has 4 tuck-in corners which enable a micro cloth to be easily attached. I also use this same setup to clean the windshield and front cap when they become dirty or full of bugs.

Been doing mine the following way forever...

Run the slide all the way out, then back in about a foot.
From the inside (with the stepladder you mentioned) you can easily condition the top seal(s) (inner and outer, on some it is the same seal) by using a rag over your hand (or a pad) and sliding your fingers between the slide out roof and the seal. No need for poles or extensions.

I thought that would make the seal easier to reach but was concerned about the dreaded out-of-sync slide motor issue I've read so much about.

I've never had a unit with Schwintek slides so I can't comment on out of sync issues.

Lube Question

I have a 2017 Sunseeker 3050S and have yet to lube the slide seals. What type of seal lube are you using?

Thank you, as this is my first post.

Lubing those slide out seals is fairly easy, just make sure they are free of any dirt or grime. I have always used Protect- all slid seal Lube. Fold the rubber over by hand so you get it lubed on both sides. I have moved our Schwintek slides out part way many times and only once did I have to re calibrate, but it was not an issue. As far as the part under the topper goes I just prayed the stream of lube onto the rubber and that was it. We have two Schwintek slides and a Lippert being a three slide motor home.

Yeah there are parts in the 3051 that were difficult to get to even the rubber flap up top from the inside. Don’t think I could get all of that outer seal under the topper that way.

So long pole it is [emoji3]

Not too bad to do overall though. With the slide in can get all of the inner and flap both sides. Then I put it out and did the outer except for the top one under the topper.

Since it is February in Ohio I have a little time to look for a 15 - 20 foot extendable pole to do that one.

Appreciate the responses.

Just spray the hard to reach areas with protect all the best you can. Even if you can’t wipe it all it’s bound to be adequate enough.

To lubricate the top slide seal under the topper, I attached a dishwashing handmop to an extensible pole. Spay wet with rubber conditionner and apply.
Easy done from a sturdy ladder.
