Swivel Spseat Base Install

I finally decided to install a swivel base on the passenger seat of our 2012 Forester 3011DS. I purchased this from Discount van and truck for $257 shipped. This is a very heavy duty product but it did require re-drilling to make it fit. This company is horrible to deal with and blamed the figment problem on my seat!!

This confirms that these seats can be made to swivel. Simply move the seat and back forward and the seat spins right around without touching anything. Positioning the seat at about a 45 degree angle clears the arm rest from the door too. I also drilled a hole in the base and installed a rubber grommet for the airbag sensor wire to clear when swiveling the seat. Plenty of length.

I purchased one for our Sunseeker/Chevy not long ago from Shop4Seats. Rather than the entire base, the one I have sandwiches between the seat and the factory base. This will raise the seat about an inch and 5/8ths, and will shift the seat to the left by a couple of inches.

This was $228 delivered. I've received the base but have yet to install it. I started a new thread in the Sunseeker forum regarding this mod and will update it once I've completed the installation.

I'd caution against ordering this particular plate for 2004+ Chevy applications.
