Toad brake LED indicator

I installed a ReadyBrute towbar system a few weeks back but didnít have time to finish the job. The RB has a built in braking system but thereís no way to tell if itís working while driving down the road. The kit included an LED light that will come on if the brakes are correctly activated. Long piece of wire to run. The light installed easily between the side camera switches.

At some point during every day you suddenly realize nothing else productive is going to happen the rest of that day. For me, it usually occurs around 9 am.

That looks great.

We purchased the RVI brake system. It was much easier for us to handle. It comes with a tablet that you keep on the engine cover or the dash mount.

The unit in the toad is light and easy to handle. It also communicates with the tablet wirelessly.

Thank You; Brian French

It's a surge (mechanical) braking system. What do you expect to see? The braking light (LED) comes on to show there is action (braking arm movement) within the surge housing.

Nice setup. We went with stay and play install in our Toad. Installer ran the light to the dash for us. Much easier to see than looking out the backup camera if it was in the top of the Toad dash.

When I installed our Invisibrake system, I ran a wire from the load-side of the toad's brake light switch, to an LED light installed on the MH dash (through the 7-pin connector for quick disconnect)

Whenever the toad's brake light switch is activated, so too is the LED. It's handy because I can easily tell when the toad brake pedal is being despressed / brakes applied.

I have been slowly getting my toad ready for the Ready Brute System and doing a video series on it. I have the tow Brackets on the toad and the lighting harness on the toad all done. Next step is the brake cables on the toad. The last step will be the brake indicator light to the RV. It looks great. I can't wait till I'm done.

Hint on hooking up the brake cables. Remove the left fender. It’s only a few bolts and pushpins and having it out of the way makes running the cables and drilling the holes in the firewall a very easy process.

Toad brake LED indicator

In addition to the indicator that comes with the kit I added one from the Jeep brake light. So that way I can see the the surge arm is working and also that the brake in the Jeep is working and is not stuck. It connects via the 7 pin trailer plug.
