Looks like two pieces of trim were stapled into a gap. I’m thinking they don’t make many with Trekkers so they messed up a bit. I’m sure the dealer can fix that quickly.
Welcome to the FRF.

Welcome to the FRF.

It appears they didn't install using the earthquake method.

Just kidding, X2 on what Duckogram said.

Welcome to the forum.

I have the Trekker cap and after working on the cable TV system I can understand how that could happen... There is very little space on the passenger side. That's why FR put one of the access panel screws in the middle of the panel instead of the corner.

That doesn't excuse the poor workmanship, and lack of quality control, but as was said before it can be easy fixed.

Update . Still not fixed . Selling dealer wants nothing do do with it . Contacted Forest River was givin a list of dealers to contact . Out of 20 only 1 would see us. After 4 hours was givin back our rv and told they would be in touch to schedule the repair . 16 days later they will not return our call . Called Forest River and all we get is voice mail and no returned calls .
We are always asked if we like our rv . The answer is yes. But I tell them I will never buy another one from Motor Home Specialists again ! And for Forest River there Customer Service needs a lot of improvement.
Since the original post our water heater has died and the battery isolated works backwards engaging with the engine off and disengaging with the engine running.

If you aren't getting a response from FR to phone calls I suggest you start using email. Then you have a trail of who what and when...

Here is the Customer Service contact info for the Forester / Sunseeker division.
Service

Josh is on the road some so give him a couple days to respond.

Newbie Question

I'm just in the market for an RV, and I saw the Trekker Cap referenced as an option, but I don't understand what it is. Can some kind, nice person please explain it for me?

Thanks,

Charlie

Welcome to the forum. To go along with the photos above the basic difference is the Trekker deletes the cab over bed. In its place it adds a smaller, more aerodynamic, cap with an entertainment center and storage.

Some of the advantages of the Trekker is a weight savings of about 150 pounds in the MBS Series. Plus you lose the wing effect of the bunk cap and get a better ride in my opinion. And you get a much better view out of the windshield without the cab over blocking your view.

If you don't need the bunk space I've found the Trekker is a big improvement over the cab over.

The Sunseeker and Forester brochures show examples of the over cab bunk, and of the optional Trekker cap.

What is funny is I once called a Camping World for a competitive quote on a Forester, and told them I wanted it quoted with the Trekker cap option. The Camping World salesman asked, “What is a Trekker cap”? I shouldn’t have bothered, but I proceeded to explain the options that were available on the RV product line he was selling.

You are responding to a camper that has not been online since September 2018.

My point or your point?
Mine was to suggest to Charlie12 that would be better off to not ignore the
old thread pop up notice and, as I suggested in the subject of my response to him, it is better to start a new thread.
That might have prevented someone from responding to a post n poof two year old thread.

Your point appears to be a bit of venting on a subject that repeats way to often.
So having been there (check my posts in the Coachmen section for verification )
I feel your pain.

Assume positive intent.

Karykatz it appears you have fallen victim to the old resurrected post trick. Addicted’s last post was back in Sept of 2018, almost two years ago. According to his profile, that was the last time he logged on as well. So basically you got sucked in and are talking to the wind (or a wall).
Thanks for trying though.
